i return to the grind tomorrow so I’m still basking in the glow of a mini-vacation. I’ve done absolutely nothing for the past four days, making great progress on my Slacker Certification.
2006 was a rough one in the real-life realm, I’m definitely looking forward to an up-swing.
LOL Yes, I am home but was working on a design. I know it is 11 months away but this design came to me last night and I worked on it this am and again when I first got home.
So what do you suppose would happen if I walked into a bar, gave elaborate instructions for a drink like this, spent 15 minutes supervising the process, and then downed it all in one big slug?
Yeah, I know . . . another big slug.
I read a book one time that described how to make a drink called a seven-layer pousse-cafe (not sure about the spelling). It’s basically a drink made up of seven liquers, each with a different specific gravity and color so you end up with this layered, rainbow-looking drink. Bartenders apparently tend to get grouchy when you ask to have one of these made up and then slurp it down in one gulp.
Yo FM!…they’re good…but the visual pretty much disappears when you start to drink them…the Bass makes it so you don’t have to chew the Guinness quite as much before swallowing
Here`s tonight`s moon for those who`s sky may be overcast, or inclement weather in their respective location, does not permit a comfortable view. Please enjoy.
I`ve been posting the shots of the moon since the 25th of Dec. I`m trying to get the complete moon cycle, so everyday I hope it`s not overcast. This is taken with a SLR Nikon camera quite similar to your new one. I have a 300mm 2.8 lens & was shooting at 400th/sec at f8. I do bracket my shots when I have the time to, and the moon is not going away soon. Your shutter problem may have to do with you not changing your shooting mode to manual. The camera does not have a mind of it`s own. Once you tell it that you`re shooting manually, it may let you shoot. The camera is smart enough to subtlely advise you that you can`t take a pic in that mode, rather than allowing you to take useless shots, only to find nothing on your download. I would check that first, before you give up & just send me your lenses that don`t work. ha
Congrats on your new camera. I`m not good with the technical details but you can at least ask me anything you want to. Some things I may be able to help you with, other times, not.
I was hoping you’d be online at this hour. I got my new camera today….Nikon D80 !! I have a couple shots on my blog that I took late this afternoon. I definitely have a lot to learn.
I tried my old Nikon lenses on it. They fit, but I seem to be unable to make the shutter click. I made a wild guess at what you meant by manual settings. What settings should I be using to make these old lenses work?
Hi Olivia,
Is the Betta, betta?
My little injured bird is doing much better although he is not allowed out of his cage till he heals up. So now I have to go stick my mustache in through the bars to keep our frienship alive. His beak [bottom half] seems to be growing back underneath the damaged portion. It seems to be like some one losing a fingernail.
I`ll try & post a pic of him tomorrow, but I know the little one is camera shy. I`ll be going to see my “Orchid friend” pretty soon, so, no, I didn`t forget.
That’s good to hear about baby bird, altho I’m sure he’d much rather be free to fly where he’d like. Ah well, soon enough right. And I am definitely looking forward to your Orchid adventure. 🙂
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Gladness
Masala Chai for the non-drinkers and/or frozen froggies.
a little early to be drinking, no.
I had another day off today so every hour is happy hour. Feliz Año Nuevo, a4l!
thanks, and Happy New Years to you and Bud.
Slacker.
That’s a good thing Omir.
Did I say it wasn’t? Did I even IMPLY that it wasn’t??
It’s so hard to guage one word comments. 🙂
but first invest about $100 for all those ingredients.
I heard a rumor that virtual drinks have a reasonable price tag 🙂
Then I’ll take 27 please.
comin’ right up! Hi FM, hope 2007 is treating you good so far
How’s it going Manny? 2007 so far is OK, I hope it will be a good year for you too.

I know how rough 2006 was for you. I’m hoping for an up-swing for you too.
You are making great strides in slacking! I see a certificate coming your way soon. 🙂
You and me both!!!!!

Thank you and back at ya!!!!
Did you finally get back home Refinish?
LOL Yes, I am home but was working on a design. I know it is 11 months away but this design came to me last night and I worked on it this am and again when I first got home.
WORLD AIDS DAY 2007
I like the design. You’re really loosing points on the slacking Refinish. 🙂
Thank you!!! I guess I am not a slacker at all. LOL
I had hopes for you Refinish, but you’re a workaholic. Maybe one day you’ll see the light. 🙂
ROTFLMAO!!!! I highly doubt it.
Well I can still hope.
I think I’ll head out for the night. Hope you have a good night Refinish.
Thanks. I am going to go blow up chickens for a while and then retire early.

I guess that’s why beer is a big seller.
Hmmmmm. I wonder what it would take to make a beer pousse-cafe. Seven layers of amber.
Might work as a lounge, but never a happy hour.
Not seven layers…but seven of them will lay you out…:{)

Guinness and Bass Ale…mmmmmmmmmmmm good
Hi dada.
Never had it but would love to try it.
Definitely an acquired taste, FM. Especially if warm, in its natural state.
Hi KS.
I’m sure after the second one I wouldn’t care.
After the first one, I didn’t care if I never had the second one.
Hey dada, make sure you watch “Countdown” tonight. KO is at his best.
Tell all your friends. A MUST SEE!!!
maybe C&J will put it up…
Yo FM!…they’re good…but the visual pretty much disappears when you start to drink them…the Bass makes it so you don’t have to chew the Guinness quite as much before swallowing
Never had Bass, but had Guinness before. I liked Guinness so I’m sure I would like Bass.
How about this?
I wonder how you would drink one of those. One layer at the time or when the bartender turns his back, mix it all together.
I have no idea. Frankly, it looks like those layered Jello desserts that the Piccadilly used to put out, but which I never saw anyone actually eat.
Get a straw and drink it layer by layer, from the bottom up.
Hi Folks, I am still at work. I am working some overtime and will check in when I get home later tonight.
so I’ll leave you with a bit of entertainment…things seem a bit slow…
Stairway to Heaven…played on a Chapman Stick…very, very difficult instrument…
enjoy
Very nice. I’ve seen those before but never heard one in action.

What a beautiful shot. How did you capture it?

For you bird fanciers, a “Rufus” hummingbird, I shot earlier today.

Beautiful!!

I just saw your pix … wonderful P4!
