I concur with B2 on the shoes (and w/Mary as well!) … But you really should bring Bud in some night to dole out the drinks! What’s a little dog hair in your cocktail? To quote the inimitable Fred Willard, We consider dog hair a condiment in our house!
The rest of you might not concur, but it’s reality for dog owners, and we all know (thx Stephen C) that Reality has a well known liberal bias.
Sorry I missed ya Manny and the rest of the gang but RL has a real pissy time sapping bias that’s kicking in on me again in this new year. One that’s gonna kick my ass in the morning as I’m up too late again tonight … maybe I can just sit in the corner and drink my coffee at my 9 am meeting? I sure hope so… otherwise estoy jodido sin sensación as my sister would say.
Okay, so I go to read Steven D’s front pager, “When Words Are Not Enough” — but I get a page saying I need a Windows Media License. I’m a Mac user — Micro$oft doesn’t even make a current edition of Windows Player, but I’ve got an older Mac-compatible version on the computer, so I cringe and click the button for the license, hoping my name and bank account information aren’t being sent off to Billy in Redmond.
But I didn’t have to worry — seems I don’t have the proper plug-ins installed anyway.
Can somebody with a computer that can actually access this post a comment for Steven to make it possible for everyone to see it without having to go through all that rigmarole?
Okay, sorry for clogging up the Lounge with the rant…I’ll go pout in the corner now…
Hope everyone had a good day. Mine was finr till I got home and found out the same bible thumping, ultra conservative asshole was elected speaker of the Texas House and that only 27 representatibves had the balls to vote against the bastard. What is even worse is 10 Democrats actually attebded Tom Craddicks dinner last night and 14 of them voted for the jerk.
What the hell were they thinking? Maybe you should consider moving up north here… we’ve got a brand new Dem Governor and Dem controlled house and senate … and no shenanigans getting it set up. I’m just sayin… besides I bet the diva dogs would like frolicking in the snow … that is, if we get any substantial amounts this winter!
Hope all is well down your way, and lest I offend anyone, I’ll repeat my oft mentioned exhortation… let’s give TX back to the Mexicans and let them bring those yahoos in line! Would serve em right. (The Texans, I mean, not the Mexicans… that would be their cross to bear, so to speak.)
ROTFLMAO!!! I cannot move as my job is here and I am way to old to start all overagain. I will leave Texas if I win the lottery and then I would move to SF. LOL
Steven’s front-page piece got fixed, so I’m happy now…
Didn’t make it up to the Keynote at MacWorld today — woke up with some digestive trouble (major heartburn — can’t figure out what the cause was) so we decided to stay home.
As it was, a bit of a disappointment from the techhead part of me — the general gadget geek is intrigued by the new iPhone, and the AppleTV sounds possible if/when we get ourselves a new TV (I’ll let other folks get the bugs out of it), but I was really hoping for a 12inch laptop to use for traveling. I’m hoping that maybe announcements about new computers are just being held off until the new operating system, Leopard, is released so they can ship with the OS pre-installed.
Should be interesting to talk to some folks on the floor tomorrow and get their reactions…the die-hard Macheads have long feared that Apple will put so much emphasis on the consumer aspect of their business that the technical stuff will get short shrifted…
Found in one of the Christmas crackers we bought this year, along with tacky toy. (If you’re not familiar with Christmas crackers… they come with a paper crown, a toy and a joke … usually all bad.)
Two fleas are leaving the movie theatre. One flea says to the other: “Do you think we should walk or should we take the dog?”
Nyuk, nyuk.
Good night all, and hope to see you “live” again sometime soon!
Nice shoes.
For the record, I think you’re very funny 😉
Thank you. I’ve just got to learn that there are certain places where I shouldn’t insert myself
Yep. I can relate.
But the boran2 cafe fan club is always excited by your appearances 🙂
I’m still hoping that I can get to Chicago to see you again in real life.
I hope you can get there too.
Did you see they are planning a booth for Orange artists? I could see your paintings in person.
Thanks, I didn’t see that. I’ll have to check that out.
I’m gonna call it a night, the boran2boy will be up any time asking for me. (He’s had many dreams lately.)
Have a good night, Mary. And thanks again.
Good night to all!

Any Descartes fans here? Only you will get this…
Only if I perceived it clearly and distinctly, which I don’t.
Your a real card.
Correction; You`re a real card. I should hop on my bicycle & go fish.
I guess I missed the joke, Lisa. But here’s a bad one, thanks fo French friends who love a great groaner.
Descartes goes into a McDonald’s in Paris, and orders a Big Mac. The counter person asks him, “Would you like fries with that?”
Descartes responds: “I think not.”
And with that, he disappeared.
Don’t blame the messenger… freely translated from my friends’ original French, but it still sort of works….
Oh my! I got distracted and didn’t post the joke. I’ll post it in the latest cafe…
