better, thanks. He’s really “talking” up a storm lately. He’s trying to say many new words. We hope that he’s putting together short sentences by the end of summer, at the latest.
You missed the big doings today — I made everybody worry with me while Hopeful (our coonhound) had surgery to remove cancerous skin lesions and they made sure it hadn’t invovled his spleen as well (which this kind of skin cancer sometimes does). Anyway, he’s home and everything looks good.
Nope around here it’s about the same. Whatever is handy. I have found when I go to the grocery store that I end up buying the same things every time. So although nothings planned, it’s pretty much the same thing all the time.
Whenever I try to make something new it gets lukewarm reviews – so it’s pot roast, spaghetti, meatloaf, baked chicken, chili etc. etc. etc. Same old stuff I’ve been making for 27 years.
The rels that just left said when they come back they want me to make a no bake cherry cheese cake that they like. Healthy eating – Hah we laugh at healthy eating. 🙂
Eating healthy is the farthest thing from my families mind. I’ve tried to cook healthy when I first moved back home and they wouldn’t eat it. So now I cook what they want and I’ll cook something different for me.
My husband has a buddy who had a deep fryer in college and that was all this guy and his roommates used to cook. When he went home for Christmas, he was so blocked up, the doctor told him he wasn’t allowed to eat for like four days!
I gave up deep frying food years ago. At home everything is baked or grilled. I get broiled when I go out unless they have fried catfish or I get a hankering for friedn chicken. LOL
Hi MIss Andi. I have two duplexes I am going to go see tomorrow. They are actually in Austin and 15 dollars a month cheaper than what I am paying in Redneck..ooops Round Rock.
LOL Well give me time to get moved and back on my feet a little financially. Then everyone can come crash on the floor. We will have a Frog Pond sleep over. LOL
George has started to whine to go out and it looks like were going to get some rain. I’m pissed. Just North of us they have winter weather advisory. They’ll get snow!
We’re supposed to get a “wintry mix” tomorrow, which means all of the schools will be closed.
It’s always fun to read the school, business and daycare closings that crawl along the bottom of the screen. Like Miss Pearl from Holy Blood of the Sanctified Precious Lamb Day School and Bible Study can’t just call the 3 parents on her list and tell them the daycare is closed.
I just got back and we’ve got nothing. While I was out my brother in B’ham called and said they’re getting snow.
George is in big trouble with me. While we were out he saw something in the dark and took out after it. I caught up with him in a neighbors yard. If he would stay I’d put him in a corner for a time out.
one of my schools was across the street from the a Catholic school called Immaculate Heart of Mary. I always envisioned this heart with all its chambers all neat and dusted and clutter-free.
We used to make up names like Our Lady of Perpetual Horniness and stuff like that – something for every occasion. Around here there are alot of things named after blood. Ben thinks christianity and being a vampire seem to have a lot in common.
in honor of the brilliance of Molly Ivins. She will be missed.
To Molly – one of a kind.
Toni I agree with you and Andi.
How’re you doing tonight?
Here, Here!
Okay FM, thanks. I’m grading a couple of papers – not a lot to do.
How are you?
Doing fine. Glad to hear you have a little slack time.
How’s Andrew doing?
better, thanks. He’s really “talking” up a storm lately. He’s trying to say many new words. We hope that he’s putting together short sentences by the end of summer, at the latest.
I’m shocked, shocked.
But, very few tonight. I made it my New Year’s Resolution to grade papers in a more timely manner and I have been sticking to it.
What’s new Andi?
You missed the big doings today — I made everybody worry with me while Hopeful (our coonhound) had surgery to remove cancerous skin lesions and they made sure it hadn’t invovled his spleen as well (which this kind of skin cancer sometimes does). Anyway, he’s home and everything looks good.
I am so glad Hopeful is okay. The Diva Dogs and I are sending warm thoughts of Love & Healing to Hopeful and all the family.
Andi, what a nerve-wracking day. I would have been a worthless blob of tears in that situation.
Will you have to stay up with him to check on bleeding, etc?
I didn’t get much work done today.
There doesn’t seem to be any seepage — maybe they had a compress on him at the vet’s.
That’s good. He’ll be just fine.
FM … I don’t have any planned menus, just whatever is handy or I have the time for.
Do you plan your meals by day?
Nope around here it’s about the same. Whatever is handy. I have found when I go to the grocery store that I end up buying the same things every time. So although nothings planned, it’s pretty much the same thing all the time.
Whenever I try to make something new it gets lukewarm reviews – so it’s pot roast, spaghetti, meatloaf, baked chicken, chili etc. etc. etc. Same old stuff I’ve been making for 27 years.
who cares what the guys think.
That’s the same with me. I know what FMom and visiting rels will eat, so I make that.
No experimenting? I love to experiment in the kitchen. I always tell folks if it is nasty we can always order pizza. LOL
Good to see ya!
that are easy to make and like you I often have the ingredients on hand
The rels that just left said when they come back they want me to make a no bake cherry cheese cake that they like. Healthy eating – Hah we laugh at healthy eating. 🙂
We started planning meals before Andrew. We found that we eat healthier if we plan for the week.
Eating healthy is the farthest thing from my families mind. I’ve tried to cook healthy when I first moved back home and they wouldn’t eat it. So now I cook what they want and I’ll cook something different for me.
a true southern family. LOL Grease and lots of it. LOL
Of course. You gotta deep fry everything or cover it in gravy. 🙂
and don’t forget potatoes with every meal. Mashed with lots of butter and gravey is always considered the best. LOL
Ya got to have mashed potatoes so you can mix in all your english peas and vegetables on you plate with it. 🙂
and biscuits and/or cornbread is a must for a big family meal. If just the folks in the house wonder bread will do. LOL
You’ve got it down pat Refinish.
My husband has a buddy who had a deep fryer in college and that was all this guy and his roommates used to cook. When he went home for Christmas, he was so blocked up, the doctor told him he wasn’t allowed to eat for like four days!
ROTFLMAO!!!!! Southerners are use to it and it doesn’t block us when we are younger.
That’s the one thing in the kitchen I don’t have. But it is on my list of things to get. 🙂
What? No turkey fryer?
Nope but my little brother has one. For turkey holidays he brings that and does the frying.
Fried Turkey is the bomb!!!!!
I gave up deep frying food years ago. At home everything is baked or grilled. I get broiled when I go out unless they have fried catfish or I get a hankering for friedn chicken. LOL
I don’t fry that much food myself, but when I do I would like to have something that does a good job.
This was taken in Austin, Texas at Demfest 2005.
Molly will be sorely missed but her words and her fighting spirit will always be alive in us all.
Texas sure has give us some grand women — Molly Ivins, Ann Richards, Barbara Jordan.
How’s the apartment hunting going?
Hi MIss Andi. I have two duplexes I am going to go see tomorrow. They are actually in Austin and 15 dollars a month cheaper than what I am paying in Redneck..ooops Round Rock.
that will be very kewl and we will all be jealous.
LOL I know you are kidding about wanting to live in the city.
but I’m still jealous of people who get to live in very nifty places.
And thank you for you kind words about Hopeful.
Once I get settled you can always come visit.
I have to confess that I have no desire to go to Texas — can you move Austin to another state?
That’s like an FM slacker comment.
She’s learning. 🙂
I definitely have an FM-attitude about going places that I don’t want to go.
I always thought it would be nice if you could accordian-fold the plains states so that I’d only have to drive across Illinois to get to the rockies.
But you will go to Utah and it makes all of Texas look liberal. LOL
LOL Austin is like no other place in Texas. It is actually nice and friendly and LIBERAL!!!!!
I read a comment once that Austin wasn’t in Texas, it was surrounded by it.
Austin, An Island of Blue
I have heard it called the San Francisco of the South.
Can the Diva Dogs live there?
They accept pets and both places have fenced in back yards.
Fenced back yards? God I wish I had one.
I haven’t lived anywhere without a fenced back yard in 15 years. LOL
Just the opposite with me. The last time I had a fenced back yard was when I rented a house in San Antonio. That was about 15 years ago.
Sounds perfect! When’s the house warming party?
LOL Well give me time to get moved and back on my feet a little financially. Then everyone can come crash on the floor. We will have a Frog Pond sleep over. LOL
Hi Refinish.
What Andi said.
Hi FamilyMan!!! See my response to Miss Andie. LOL
And I just read your comment to Andi … so I’m all set. 🙂
Hi Miss Olivia!!!!!
I have been busy this week also setting up a new design store at another site. LOL
Campaign Gear For Democrats
Most of the designs you folks have already seen but there are a few new ones.
George has started to whine to go out and it looks like were going to get some rain. I’m pissed. Just North of us they have winter weather advisory. They’ll get snow!
Back in a minute.

I think he’s trying to tell you that you need more exercise, FM.
I’m thinking he’s trying to give me a heart attack.
LOL
I sense a stinky night in store for FM …
Heh. I guess he’ll regret feeding George that lentil and cabbage dog food.
what was he thinking … 😉
I hope he knows he’s in so much trouble he’ll give me a break tonight. 🙂
I don’t think so FM
one of my schools was across the street from the a Catholic school called Immaculate Heart of Mary. I always envisioned this heart with all its chambers all neat and dusted and clutter-free.

Ya’ll led such exciting lives. We just called school, school. 🙂
WEll, my school was just plain ole St. Luke’s. But there was a Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrow. Now that was one bummer of a school, I’ll tell you.
Beats numbers — 66, 70, 84.
Hike?
Night, Andi.
Big migraine tonight and the dog just threw her rawhide bone and hit me in the temple. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry – they both hurt.
Ouch.
to sleep? Or are you the type of person that can always sleep?
and feel better.
Night.
ROTFLMAO!!!!! That remind me of the way you lkearn to cross yourself for mass. Spectacle, testicales, watch, wallet. LOL
It’s time for me the start getting ready for tomorrow. I’ll see everyone later.
Have a great evening Toni and sweet dreams!!!
I’m heading off to bed and hopefully an odor free night.
Everyone have a good night in the pond.
Bring room deodorizer!
Sweet Dreams and smells. LOL
opened here.
