We got our snow during the day — 5″. Jim has a school day because it was so cold that the snow froze to the roads. His normal 30 minute drive home took 75 minutes.
People here are whining because it’s not supposed to get out of the 40s for the next 7 days. I love this weather because I can leave my case of bottled water on the back porch and it’s the perfect temp to drink. 🙂
It’s actually sort of nice to be all snuggled in at home together with a fresh coat of snow on the ground. I just wish the guys weren’t sick and missing school. Sigh.
At least CBtE has a chance to work on his OB powerpoint presentation for school.
I just left a note over at the welcome wagon that my grand niece finally is at home from the hospital, and the doctors said she would just keep improving. FMom and I will probably see her this weekend.
I guess you missed the news. The letter was sent by mistake. The new owners are not even moving to Texas until nrxt month and already have a place they plan to live. They will be talking to me about signing a new lease. I will probably sign a 6 month lease as this will give me plenty of time to look for a new place.
We’re waiting on a call from the union office — the spouse is supposed to meet with the union rep and probably someone from the transit district regarding when he gets to go back to work. He finally got all the paperwork in yesterday and got the “green card” that says he’s okay to drive medically.
We’ll have to go through the same thing once a year from here on out, but at least now the doctor knows what’s involved with the form; the spouse will set appointments for eye exams and physicals in November/December (note to self: flag Google Calendar) so he can get the paperwork done well in advance of the expiration date. And if all goes well and he’s a good boy from here on out, we’re looking at retirement in 7 years, when I turn 55; he can retire when he turns 55 and start getting pension benefits, but if he waits till I join him then we’ll both get lifetime medical coverage. (Unions rock!)
Ah, the joys of bureaucracy…but I guess it’s better than having drivers keel over from a heart attack while driving or something. (There actually have been drivers who’ve died on the job, but not while actually driving — rather on their layovers at the end of the line; they’d lean back in the seat for a nap and…well, you get the idea…) (Geez, this isn’t exactly cheery…)
Thanks CG, we’re pretty happy at the moment. I only got to see her in the hospital for about 15 minutes, but I can see she get her good look from my side of the family. 🙂
But her mother’s side has a lot to do with it also, because she wasn’t born with a size 13 foot. :~)
From the migraine yes, but it will be a couple of days still to get over the effects of the medicine. It leaves me worn out and feeling like I’m in left field for a couple of days. I figure that’s a small price to pay for relief from the migraine.
Have you ever tried something really out there – like acupuncture or meditation? FWIW I used to get migraines at least once a week, with a regular headache every single day – and when I started going to the gym every day they almost stopped. I also gave up pop (I mean soda)and tried to eat better, namely no sugar, but the past year or so the sugar thing has gone out the window and my headaches are sort of returning, just not as often.
I done the meditation thing and it has worked up to a point. I’ve heard about acupuncture but haven’t tried that yet. I usually watch what I eat, but sugar hasn’t been something that I’ve tried stopping. I guess I’m going to have to put that on the list of things to stop eating and see what happens. It would be great if sugar was the only thing I had to stop doing to stop the migraines. Then again, sugar is proably one of the hardest things I’ll every have to give up. 🙂
I did an extended sleep and have been out for the last 2 days. It appears I’ve missed a good bit, thank goodness for that at least.
Years ago I went ice fishing on a lake in Maine. Everybody was laughing at me because I wasn’t going out to the the little fish house. I kept thinking I might fall through. When I finally saw a big 4 X 4 truck driving behind the fish houses I decided my weight probably would’t be the tipping point.
You and me both. With the political and civil rights stuff I do, I deal with some pretty negative issues and people a lot. I try to always keep a more upbeat attitude when dealing with people. I have my moments when I want to scream, rage and cry but I do that in private. LOL
I’ve always looked at it there are people out there that no matter what you do, they’re going to be butts. I just ignore that and go ahead and doing what I’m supposed to be doing.
Too True!!! but you have to be able to deal with all of them when you are doing some of the stuff I do. LOL
That is why I have times I rant and rage at home so that I don’t with other volunteers. I have been known to throw volunteers out of a campaign office who only want to talk negative. LOL
There is a team called the FLAMES!!!! I think I can remember that one. LOL We had a team contest at work a few years ago based on hokey and I picked the Flames and drove everyone nuts.
Right now I’m trying to figure out what kind of Memory chips my laptop has. I want to save up and double the memory in my computer. I’ve searched through the help and everything, but haven’t come up with anything yet.
I don’t want to get stuck with two sets of memory chips like I did for my old computer.
I was thinking of doing that, but haven’t gotten to that point yet. It’s got 512 meg now and I’d at least like 1 gig.
I was just thinking maybe I should put up those chips I never used on ebay or something to see if I could recover any money from them. That was a real downer when I received the second set and it wasn’t right.
Do you know for sure that you can add memory to the laptop? And have you looked into what it would cost to buy the memory from the manufacturer? I’m not sure I would trust generic memory chips for a laptop.
Morning Miss Andi!!!
wado
And if not now, when?
(h/t Hillel)
I agree 100%. Morning infifelpig!!!!
I won’t be expecting any long conversations with you this morning.
I hope that new laptop isn’t too far off.
Than2s.
2 06nths, 5’0 afra5d.
Sorry to hear that. I don’t suppose your place of employment could scrounge up a spare in the interim.
Morning! Sorry about yur keyboard.
What’s today health report from the cabin?
1 sore throat
3 whooping coughs
1 sick stomach
3 runny noses
1 fever
1 without a runny nose
1 without whooping cough
3 without sick stomachs
Fun, huh? At least CBtE slept better last night after we put the humidifier in his room.
It snowed here overnight. How about you?
Hope everyone get better soon.

Keep this up and I’m going to arrange a trip home for you in the midst of the biggest lake effect snow storm in the city’s history.
Morning CG, Sorry you folks are not feeling better. The Diva Dogs and I are sending warm thoughts of Love and Healing to the Cabin Crew.
Thanks- We’re feeling better already! 🙂
It’s actually sort of nice to be all snuggled in at home together with a fresh coat of snow on the ground. I just wish the guys weren’t sick and missing school. Sigh.

I am sure it will be a great presentation when he is finished.
LOL Hi ask!!!!
Morning everyone.
I just left a note over at the welcome wagon that my grand niece finally is at home from the hospital, and the doctors said she would just keep improving. FMom and I will probably see her this weekend.
Anybody else good happy news?
Morning FamilyMan. I am sorry your neice was in the hospital but glad she is home. I am sending Warm Thoughts of Love and Healing.
Thanks Refinish.
How’s the house hunting going so far? I’ve been thinking a lot about you and your new abode. 🙂

That is good new RF. At least it gives you some breathing room.

I’ll just be glad to get my freakin’ LIFE back…
That’s great news, Cali.
Glad to hear it!!!!
Hi Cali
I’m glad you’ve got good news. As you said maybe life can return back to normal again.
Here’s hoping and sending good thoughts your way.
Yay for the grandneice!
Thanks CG, we’re pretty happy at the moment. I only got to see her in the hospital for about 15 minutes, but I can see she get her good look from my side of the family. 🙂
But her mother’s side has a lot to do with it also, because she wasn’t born with a size 13 foot. :~)
for which the mother thanks the FSM.
Yep I’m sure she does. I guess it would be bad for the feet being bigger than the head.
How’re ya doing today SN?
I’m doing well. We’ve been to the dog park, had a nap, a veggie sub from Subway – life is pretty good.
Are you all recovered from your migraine?
From the migraine yes, but it will be a couple of days still to get over the effects of the medicine. It leaves me worn out and feeling like I’m in left field for a couple of days. I figure that’s a small price to pay for relief from the migraine.

Can I just say that you are funny as hell on painkillers? 🙂
Thanks you very much, I think. 🙂
… pretend they are a zamboni
I want to be there so badly!
🙂
Jim thought you’d like a picture of his ice rink.
(I’m very predictable or you know me well or both 😉
is that a bench?
Nope it’s a dock on the pond. You can see it better in this picture (wherein Jim gets help from Giddy).
Years ago I went ice fishing on a lake in Maine. Everybody was laughing at me because I wasn’t going out to the the little fish house. I kept thinking I might fall through. When I finally saw a big 4 X 4 truck driving behind the fish houses I decided my weight probably would’t be the tipping point.
so, you never know … 😉
Tall but skinny. I figure if I fell through, I could use my big nose like an elephant and at least breath. 🙂
That’s pretty hardcore if you’ve got that big bench … just perfect for a hockey team … 😀
Do you skate out there too?
I don’t skate (but don’t tell anyone or they might not let me in the next time I have to go to Canada).
Just tell them you can’t wait to get there to eat some poutine. They’ll figure you’re hard core Canadian just from that.
Problem is soon as I open my mouth to order it they know I’m an outsider.
I wonder how you would say poutine in sign language. 🙂
What a great shot!!! I am so glad you finally got your snow. LOL
This is actually our second snow of more than 4″ but the other one didn’t last. The cold weather will keep this one around for awhile.
Well, I am glad you are enjoying. I will pass on the cold and on the snow. LOL
Andi even told me I could rent a snow blower. If we keep the cold temps through the weekend, I may take her up on that.
Now that’s love! 🙂
Good evening.
Anybody around?
How ya doing?
Doing fine tonight. What are you up to?
H
LOL Typed the title and for got to put a message. Hope everyone is having a great evening.
Hi Refinish
You sound your usual chipper self.
LOL for the most part, I am always chipper.
That’s an understatement for you. 🙂
I feel being chipper is like smiling. It is much easier to look for the good than the bad all the time.
That’s a good outlook. I wish more people had it.
You and me both. With the political and civil rights stuff I do, I deal with some pretty negative issues and people a lot. I try to always keep a more upbeat attitude when dealing with people. I have my moments when I want to scream, rage and cry but I do that in private. LOL

Wow a side of Refinish we haven’t seen. Go get em tiger. 😉
LOL Thought you would like to know that part.
I’m breaking the once every 15 minutes response here, just to say hi. Quiet night. We just had thai food again.
HI second nature!!!!!
Hi SN
Why don’t you hire a Thai cook and then teach her to make biscuits and gravy. 🙂
go ahead make me jealous
Same as usual – tom kha soup and pad thai chicken.
pad woon sen is my favorite dish
I had a portabella satay in Chicago that was really good.
Since my new new LT is broken and has to be repaired.
And the Sens are playing Buffalo tonight.
Is that a card game?
you won’t be going to Canada (you must know the names of the hockey teams in order to enter the country)
Yes, at customs they ask you to identify one hockey team or describe poutine … so now you’re all going to breeze on through. 🙂
There is a team called the FLAMES!!!! I think I can remember that one. LOL We had a team contest at work a few years ago based on hokey and I picked the Flames and drove everyone nuts.
the typo certainly suggests something about your real attitude toward the game. 🙂
LOL!!!

I don’t want to get stuck with two sets of memory chips like I did for my old computer.
contact the manufactuter or take it in with you when you buy.
what about online support?
All the technical info for my laptop is available online.

I remember I can add memory to it, but I wasn’t sure about generic memory. I haven’t gotten that far yet.
It`s sort of a bummer when you can`t remember the memory.
Hi Head
Hi Head
To have no memory is usually my problem. Now if I could just get the computer memory right. 🙂
it’s called CRS. LOL
back in a few.
New cafe here.
