Here`s a reality. Not a call for sympathy at all, please.
I was informed today that a longtime friend of mine died. He apparently died last fri. but people started getting concerned about not being able to reach him, & called his landlady to check on him, on Mon. She found him at that point. It was a surprise to all of us, but no one gets out of here alive. The mention of it is my plea to everyone, to always try & have a nice word for every one as it may be your last. A case in point, was when I was being scolded by an exgirlfriend about my giving $5.00 to a homeless person I knew. She told me I shouldn`t give anything to bums. Trying to get to the liquor store before it closed, he was hit by a car & killed five mins. later. I was furious at her for him having heard her statement about him, but was happy he had heard me tell her to not judge people. So be nice, it`s free. Thanks
Let me send you some warm thoughts across the “tubes.”
My son is paraplegic. I’ve always had a “case” when he handed his hard-earned money to people begging on the streets. (He goes to work every day, pushing his wheelchair a mile, even during the year when he had to wear a “wound vac” to drain a potentially fatal pressure sore. It was ticking me off when people who could walk and apparently function didn’t.)
Finally, I woke up. I am not a judge. It was simply not something to argue about. None of us can get inside the heads of people who are asking for money. I can afford it. They may need it a lot more than I do. You are absolutely nice…Be nice, it’s free.
To you, peace. The “last thing” that you may have said isn’t the whole of your friendship. I firmly believe that we live beyond our physical bodies, and that those we care about are close.
Your message tonight hit me and probably a lot more people lurking on this site. You’ve given to us…thanks.
Dear Michaela,
That only goes to my point. Your wonderful thought is one I`ll keep forever. I`ve noticed your avatar only since a short while. Everytime I see it, will be a reminder of your thoughts. Your name is a match for a lovely heart.
It sometimes gets a little hazy but you`ve always had a way, especially through your daily photos, to help the sun burn through. I like the one from yesterday which I`d refer to as “First Snow”, & the pond today is a Saterday Evening Post cover. Thanks, he was a very nice friend.
Thank you for sharing. I had to wait until this morning to add a response as it brought back many memories and truths I have had to discover through the years. I have finally in my old age learned to end a fight(the few I have) with these words” I am still mad or totally disagree with you but still love you anyway.” I then walk out of the situation until I cam calm down before I say something that will hurt the person I care about.
Sometimes that is just enough to make the other person realize exactly the same thing. One must confront their love, as well as their hate, or their anger.
Did you get the feeling the writers of Lost had no real idea of where the show was going and just wrote one episode at a time? My kids still watch it but I gave up after last season.
that they really have a developed story arc. I find the way stuff shows up (polar bears, smoke monster, crazy french woman) and then disappear very irksome.
I think Heroes has starated out like lost, but it’s more coherent. This will probably end up like Lost and there will be hundreds of re-runs until a new one come out.
I’ve watched Heroes 3 or 4 times and I think it was the same episode at least twice. Cheerleader, superhuman strength, little biracial kid in the phone booth, bad guy asks what he’s doing…
I thought Happy Hour was a glass of wine with Keith Olbermann. Different meaning in this alternate world?
PS the humor in this place is SOOO appreciated.
going to see if they still care what happens on Lost?
I don’t know. It’s been off for such a long time that I feel like I’ve lost interest in it.
I think that once of TV’s biggest problems. They get you hooked and then there nothing for a long time but re-runs.
id this more reality TV?
Surprisingly enough it’s not a reality show. It started out good, but as I said I don’t know if I up for another season.

Life is full of lost opportunities but it seems equally balanced with found ones. I’m glad you’ve been able to see them.

and I wasn’t exactly thrilled with this season but I’m going to give one or two more shows before I give up.

Yep, Lost is on double secret probation.
I figure I’ll give it another shot and if nothing them my new favorite show is Heroes.
And now that Lost is on at 10:00 it’s on opposite Medium, which I really like.
I hadn’t noticed that there was a catch-up show before the real show. That’s too late for super-geezer. I’ll just tivo it.
I think I’m missing some crucial background info on Heroes because I missed the first few episodes.

You know, I’d like it better if it was a happy 45 minutes so there was no time for the tabloid stories.
Sometimes you have to escape the political world to keep your sanity. LOL
That’s the purpose of the wine…
Do you think the tabloid stuff is forced on him?
Right now, I am so sick of the astronaut story I may click off to FAUX or to CSpan.
Ugh, Condi is on CSpan…maybe there’s a rerun on the History Channel
that I keep old mythbusters on my tivo.
It’s bedtime for me, so I’ll see everyone in the morning.
Have a good night in the pondl
no takers? porque…what’s in that thing
