Ooh – a warm front! The forecast tells me that we’ll not surpass 38F for the next 7 days in this area…
A pretty normal weekend here; curly will see her mother, I’ll meet up with the kids and head to home. Tomorrow, my daughter will interview this guy for an article on netroots and blogging for her school paper.
Sounds like you have a normal weekend. That’s pretty cool about your daughter interview that guy for the school paper. I don’t know if you’ve memtioned it before, but does she want to become a writer?
Ah the life of geezerhood, isn’t it great. I’ve been trying for 30 minutes to program a universal remote to my TV and nothing happens. Yes I have batteries, and I’ve gone through every number it gives for the brand TV I have, but nothing yet. This looks like a two day job to me.
I bought this one 6 months ago and have never used it, so FMom’s remote is starting to go out and I thought I would get this one going for her. But, I’m finding that some universal remote are smarter than me. Of coure that’s not saying much. 🙂
Looks like I’ll be transferring a lot of old family pictures to DVD for a couple of cousins of mine. I forgot them on the the last batch I sent out and one has an old 8 mm (I think that’s right) movies taken by one of my uncles that was put on VHS. I’m going to copy that over and clean it up somewhat, but as I told him you can only work with what you’ve got, so don’t expect miracles.
Yeah when you have people having high expectations of you then you have to do some work to keep those expectatioins high.
When they already start of with low expectations, just a little bit of work will bring back a wealth of “great job”.
Just like on an old Star Trek show I saw one time, Scotty was telling someone to alway tell them twice the amount of time it would take. Whenever he gave a time and was given a lot less time than he quoted he looked like a genius.
If you look you can find slackdom everywhere. 🙂
I woke up with a dog paw and 50 lbs of pressure in my solar plexus, and now a headache and out of half and half. So I’m hoping this means the rest of the day is all good.
Blame shifting, I’m good at that too. I’m afraid virtual half and half won’t do it though, so Mr. Nature just went to Panera for coffee and artichoke egg souffles.
It was really quite ironic – the Mr. and I argued about who had to take the dog out so long that he and I were both wide awake and she fell asleep on our pillows.
Morning FamilyMan!!! I am doing good. Working on adding some new sections into my latest store. LOL Granted a lot of the designs are up at left of the rainbow already. I decided to open a new site at another provider also. The latest store can be found at the following link.
and take a look — I’m thinking of ordering a couple for this summer when I head for YearlyKos (need to wait and see if I can make it from XL to L), so I might also ask you to send along a few cards with the store URL in case anyone asks where I got those cool threads. 🙂 Never hurts to help a friend out with the advertising. Figuring T-shirts and jeans will be the de rigeur apparel in Chicago, and I’d rather support your store (and a few others) than the Daily Kos store.
Doing a bit better today — last night was rough. Had a mild emotional breakdown when the spouse asked me what I was reading on the computer; kinda silly I know, but I get tired of having to explain things to him when he doesn’t know the context. The stress of the last 9 10 months is really getting to me, I can tell…fortunately he’s going to be heading back to work SOON (needs to make another phone call on Monday), but I’ve decided to run away from home for a few days the last week of the month, sort of an early birthday gift to myself (my birthday’s the first weekend in March).
Good morning, plf515
I’ve been here at BT a while but this is my first try at the Froggy Bottom Cafe. It’s still morning here in California, and I guess the East Coasters are looking at lunch.
Good morning (?) plf and latanawi,
I think you’re right, the cafe is often more quiet around this hour. But then there is the lounge tonight, there is usually a late night crew that keeps going.
There are at least 5 great diaries on the front page and in the recommend column here in the Pond (as I type). Everyone — Don’t neglect to read and comment — and recommend. Real chewy brain-food kinda stuff.
but it’s Saturday and I’ve been up since 5:30 a.m. so I’m not confident about ‘good’.
In that case I’ll just say morning Andi.
It looks to be a great morning here, although a little chilly.
about complaining? Are you up really early or did you not sleep?
Nope I up early, but you just complain away. At least once a year without Andi complaining wouldn’t seem like a complete year. 🙂
since I complain many times a year, you have a huge cache of complete years that should make you immortal. 😉
Since you put it that way I should be a very happy man. 🙂
Good morning, Andi and FM.
A bit warmer (24) this morning – up since 5 reading a couple of diaries here and there.
Morning ask. We’re up to 31F at the moment. I think we’ll be having a warm front coming in today or tomorrow.
Do you and curly got any big plans for the weekend?

She enjoys writing, but I’m not sure how much clarity there is on the future – she’s got plenty of time.
That’s good she enjoys it. I wished I could have gotten either one of my daughters into writing, but neither showed any interest.
Okay, okay. no more complaining about getting up early for me.
Good Morning ask.
My solution to that one is to get a different universal remote.
I bought this one 6 months ago and have never used it, so FMom’s remote is starting to go out and I thought I would get this one going for her. But, I’m finding that some universal remote are smarter than me. Of coure that’s not saying much. 🙂
I am glad to have the kids read the manuals and set up stuff.
What are you up to this weekend?
Looks like I’ll be transferring a lot of old family pictures to DVD for a couple of cousins of mine. ah, the soft slacking of low expectations

Where are all these words coming from FM? This has got to be your longest comment yet.
Morning everyone. 🙂
Hi SN
I guess I’m just talkative today, or either the frustration of that remote control.
How’re you doing today?
I woke up with a dog paw and 50 lbs of pressure in my solar plexus, and now a headache and out of half and half. So I’m hoping this means the rest of the day is all good.
It’s not my fault! I told to Jim to get it.
Blame shifting, I’m good at that too. I’m afraid virtual half and half won’t do it though, so Mr. Nature just went to Panera for coffee and artichoke egg souffles.
It can only mean the day has to get better. If not, pull the dog back over your head and go back to sleep. 🙂
It was really quite ironic – the Mr. and I argued about who had to take the dog out so long that he and I were both wide awake and she fell asleep on our pillows.
morning. early. long sentences bad. short sentences good.
Has anyone figured out yet why the margins keep going over into the ads section?
A curse.
I think it’s just you, FM. Maybe it’s that new universal remote.
It must be me. Maybe my middle age spread is pushing the margins over too much. 🙂
and then run some errands.
Ta.
See ya Andi and enjoy.
Morning Folks!!!!!
Morning Refinish.

The new site looks good. Pretty soon you’ll be ranking in so much money you won’t be able to count it. 🙂
Thanks FamilyMan. I am trying and I think my describtions are getting better and I hope the design work has improved some of the last year or so. LOL
I’ve never seen anything wrong with you designs. If anything they just keep getting better.
Thank you. of course you never saw any of the really early ones. LOL
Point taken.
Looks like FMom is up and I need to get breakfast started.
Talk to ya later.

What day is your birthday?
Thank you and I would be thrilled to send you some cards.
I am busy with some hot diaries over at big Orange, but wanted to say hi on my 2nd day here at the pond (in the pond??)
Good morning, plf515

Maybe I write too much, but I enjoy it. The “recommendations” are sure appreciated for the work involved (I spend a lot of time on research).
