   I would ask you to add Real Climate to the blogroll here.  It is the pre-eminent climate science blog on the web imho, founded and operated by climate scientists who have participated in the IPCC reports issued in 2001 and this year, as well as other important research studies on global warming.

   You missed my blog, GOTV. I used ot be on Atrios’ blogroll, but it is such a local blog it is no wonder that he dropped it.

   Because he is an independent journalist and not a partisan kingmaker?

   Lefty bloggers congratulate themselves on being less compromised and corrupted than fancy MSM reporters; on creating a new independent realm of punditry and reporting. Do a lot of them really aspire to flack for a candidate, as well? Of course there are liberal bloggers who seem mainly about independent journalism — Glenn Greenwald, now with Salon, comes to mind, as does Joshua Micah Marshall’s Talking Points Memo and Firedoglake’s coverage of Plamegate — and aren’t looking to hook up with candidates. But others seem comfortable blurring the lines between independent commentary and partisan kingmaking. And while it’s true that journalists have historically gone off to work for politicians, they don’t keep their writing job when they go on the other payroll. Plus, their colleagues and competitors in other media organizations don’t see themselves as having a stake in the former journalist’s new political perch, and thus don’t tend to cheer them on, or look away from exposing problems that might emerge with their new employer.     i am seriously thinking of dropping all those blogs who “cleaned house” and called it blog amnesty…dKos, Eschaton, MyDD, AmericaBlog
    (did i miss any?)

    i haven’t read dKos in weeks anyway…and the Boo and others are more helpful day in and day out.

    great job, booman!  plus, several of those other blogs have been long favorites at skippy, like lean left, pacific views, cursor, tbogg, liberal oasis (one of skippy’s first fans in blogtopia and yes, we coined that phrase!), nathan newman, maxspeak and the amazing seeing the forest!  all great blogs!

    I never miss reading Barbara O’Brien’s Mahablog. I love that she refers to David Broder as the ‘Cabbage.’ and Chris Matthews is ‘Tweety.’

    Her blog is small, but attracts interesting comment.

    I have had the Tribune on my blog list since the inception of leftIndependent blog in 6/2006. LeftIndependent blog fits all of the criteria you set out. Both Atrios and DailyKos banned me for criticizing the right wing of the Democratic Party and its continued support for Richard Nixon’s Jim Crow drug war. I make nothing from the blog. Not even from Amazon book listings. LeftIndependent is updated at least weekly. Often more.
