Here’s something curious. Comparing Daily Kos and MyDD, which site do you think has the younger audience? Which site do you think has more female readers? And which site supports John Edwards and which site supports Barack Obama?
The answers might surprise you. They surprised me.

Huh. Well, based on only 2 aspects of MyDD’s survey I should be an ideal MyDD reader as a 30 year old male, but the most cursory check on my history there vs Dkos shows my netroots home is overwhelmingly orange (MyDD is actually a distant 4th in line for me after BT & MLW). Go figure. Guess I like hanging out with older women.
In a similar boat as you – I participate for more at dKos than at MyDD, but my demographics (young male Obama supporter) are much more belonging to that of MyDD. To be honest, though, I like reading the MyDD front page a lot more – in the sense that it almost always has an analytical piece up front, whereas some of the dKos posts are just news captures.
I’m male and over 50. I don’t think I fit in anywhere. 🙁
Yes, Obama supporters have managed to hijack MyDD for their debased, low information purposes. As a young Edwards supporter, this forces me to read only diaries and not comments at MyDD.
