The only answer to organized money is organized people.

I have been a journalist too long to look at the world through rose-colored glasses. I believe the only way to be in the world is to see it as it really is and then to take it on despite the frightening things you see. The Italian philosopher Gramschi spoke of the “the pessimism of the intellect and the optimism of the will.” With this philosophy your generation can bring about the Third American Revolution. The first won independence from the Crown. The second won equal rights for women and for the sons and daughters of slavery. This third – the revolution of the 21st Century – will bring about a democracy that leaves no one out. The simple truth is we cannot build a political society or a nation across the vast divides that mark our country today. We must bridge that divide and make society whole, sharing the fruits of freedom and prosperity with the least among us.
I’ll second the KCouric comment, another excuse for a so called journalist.(remember her fawning over Condi Rice for ‘girlie’ talk?) Can’t she just be sent back to the Today show where she belongs.
I didn’t think I could dislike Katie any more than I already did…what she did last was unforgivable. How dare she question their decisions and commitment to each other and their children? What an evil shilling shrew.
I’m glad CBS news’ ratings have continued to plummet since she took over. I hope they fire her sorry self.
i was walking thru the mall with one of my boys…the one who retired after 20 years with customs/homeland security….and he asked me if i noticed all the israeli salespeople at the many kiosks in the mall…..and i said yes i did notice ….the face cream guy with the sweaty palm who grabbed my hand to put some smutz on it and the gorgeous ceramic hair straightening girl who was hitting on my daughter….he told me when he worked HS they were ordered to be hands off in dealing with them….knowing most of them are here past their visas….double standard…hands off the illegal israelis….round up the illegal mexicans….i thought that was very interesting and worthy of exposure.
A little late with this, but I was at work. Regarding the 60 Minutes interview with John and Elizabeth Edwards last night…
Some say the use of blind quotes has no place in responsible, professional journalism. Some even say it is a major contributor to the decline in level of the discourse in this country. Because using the seemingly innocuous words “some say” is a way of not admitting it’s actually Rush Limbaugh (or someone similar) who says this. It’s also a way of asking questions of your own that you’d rather not admit you are asking.
As criticism of the Iraq war grows at home, some US soldiers abroad increasingly are rejecting Bush’s mission. On military bases across Germany, many are now seeking a way out through desertion or early discharge.
I’m up way later than I meant to be, but before turning in, I’d like to share something I read today. It’s a sermon by Louis Crew, the founder of Integrity (which, for anyone who is not aware, is the Episcopalian GLBT organization).
I found it very touching in a positive, uplifting way. And, speaking for myself, it’s something I needed today.
I’m glad they cleared up the Anna Nicole Smith thing, or not.
Larry King Live should be great for the next few months or so.

wow thats a great quote…”the only answer to organized money is organized people”.
almost as good as “You call yourselves men? I know carpets smarter than you.” – Glenn Close as Cruella DeVille
God, what strength and grace! And Phyllis Schlafly will live to be 100. And Barbara Bush. And Lynne Cheney.
And fuck Katie Couric…how dare Elizabeth go on living when she’s supposed to be dying!?

didn’t Katie continue to work while her husband died of colon cancer?
Yes she did.
