I don’t know if Manny is back yet, so I threw up a Welcome Wagon. Anybody around?
threw up a welcome wagon? Ewwww.
Hi SN.
Yep those wagons are pretty big. 🙂
What are ou up to tonight?
Trying to decide where to go for dinner. I was too tired to cook.
Yeah I feel the same way, so I think it will be sandwich night tonight.
I think if I was going somewhere to eat, I would like Chinese food tonight.
What would you order? We have 5 or 6 Chinese places within about 2 miles of here.
I’d order my usual. Hot & sour soup, egg roll, and Kung Po beef. We’ve had a Chinese eating establishment here for about 1 year now. It’s not the best, but it’s passible.
Kung Pao beef is with peanuts, right? Is it spicy? I like really spicy Szechuan type food. But I sort of feel like comfort food tonight.
Yeah it’s spicy and with peanuts. The closest thing to comfort food you’d find around here is a hamburger.
I sort of feel like mashed potatoes and gravy. I wish my grandmother was still alive so I could visit her and eat all of her old grandma food.
and szechuan bean curd
that sounds like something you just sneezed out. Hello, Andi. 🙂
Mmmmmmmmmmmm … 🙂
Hi Olivia.
I’ve almost got myself talked into calling in a take out order.
How’re ya doing tonight?
Good idea.
I was going to make singapore noodles tonight … so it fits w/ the overall theme.
Well that’s my favorite spicy dish.
Yeah, what is bean curd? I’m picturing tofu.
Yup tofu. You don’t like tofu?
Hi Andi.
I haven’t had steamed dumplings in a long time. However, I’ve never had szechuan bean curd.
It’s nice and spicy and the tofu is crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside which is a very nice mouth feel.
I’m leaving that one alone.
I don’t see why. I’m mouthy, you’re mouthy. It’s perfect.
Nope, not saying a word. I guess it’s Ruby Tuesdays. See you guys later.
I’ll be back in a minute. I couldn’t stand it anymore and called in a take out order.
Good evening, all.
Lot’s of food talk above. I’m just back in – but may have to go out to get some now.
Sounds like a good plan to me … 🙂
So are you cooking or ordering in?
I’m definitely not cooking – just back in with some take-out. Turkey meat-loaf, steamed veggies and a nice mix from the salad bar.
Hi all. As is befiting the weather and time of day, I’m having a big bowl of shredded wheat in warm milk. Mmmmmmmmmm.
Shredded cardboard more like.
Don’t you go dissin’ my “shreddies”. I’ll only eat them warm; cold milk on shredded wheat is all wrong.
Besides, I like them, and they are a good stick-to-the-ribs breakfast – which means I don’t start snacking ’til after 10:30am.
I like GrapeNuts too, but I can’t get them here.
Grape Nuts – they’re not grapes and they’re not nuts. They feel like nuts and bolts in your mouth.
Such strong feelings about cereal. 😉
Personally, I can’t eat the sugary or flavored stuff.
Me either! My favorite is Crispix, with ice cold skim milk, no sugar. I’m boring.
Shredded wheat in a bowl, pour scalding water over them, strain, add milk & honey. It`s easier with the large biscuit kind. While your eating that, boil two eggs. Get ready to walk to school in the cold, put the hot boiled eggs in your coat pockets to warm your hands till you get to school. Eat them at that point but make sure you don`t peel the shells till you get to school. I don`t want to hear anybody shredding on shredded wheat.
Just got through eating my take out. I’m stuffed.
Hi FM!
I’m ready to roll on the floor, as well.
What did you get?
Hi ask.
Chinese tonight. Nothing like down home Southern Chinese food. 🙂
I saw what you bought in and it sounded good.
Did you get stir fried pimento cheese sticks with soy sauce and grits?
What did you end up getting at Ruby Tuesdays?
I’m nodding off after eating all that food, so I’m calling it an early night.
Everyone have a good night in the pond.
Looks like I’m closing out the Lounge tonight with a weather report.
It is spitting snow.
We’ve been wearing shorts for 2 weeks, flowers are blooming, trees are in leaf, and for the next 4 nights we are going to be in the low 20s.
I was looking outside with the porch light on, and Andi came over and turned it off. Expect pictures of frostbitten flowers, forlorn ferns, and lamented leaves to follow.
Night all; stay warm.
Hi Jim,
I checked the weekend forecast a half hour ago – now, we decided to cancel our planned trip to the Berkshires. Looks like that snow is headed our way.
Weird spring…
Spring was last week, my dear.
This being a welcome wagon, I thought I’d just take a quick peek inside to say hello, I must be going.
Best midweek wishes to all pondies & pondettes. Keep your eye on that wheat gluten, folks!
Hey Wench! I keep missing you. Damn.
I guess I’ve missed you too. Well, these things take practice.
😉
I’ll try & be back soon. Hope all’s well by you.
Hi ww,
Good to see you! I think it was only yesterday I was wondering where you were.
How kind of you, ask! & here I imagined myself only an insignificant speck in your wondrous universe.
Not that this isn’t so, of course — you’re just extremely observant.
😉
As of now, I’m about 100 miles north of the city & facing your direction through some stunningly ice-laden trees & heavy fog. I’ve been chucking old barn wood all day, ergo my speedy in & out.
Hope you’re doing well yourself.
Wish you could post a photo of that!
I nodded off – better go to bed.
really good to see yer bad self…figuratively speaking…:{)
hope things are becoming normalized for you up there…looking forward to being here at the same time one of these days tho my FBC/L time’s really being infringed upon by RL.
be well, peace and blessings
