The Many Moods of Albert.
I’ve mentioned before that Albert likes himself a good bunny fort. Under the woodstove, under a chair, especially one draped with a long jacket or a drying bath towel, or even the door I took out of the bathroom which is now propped against a wall in his room for him to “hide” behind.
His best fort is our bed. We have a futton (a proper cotton one) on a slatted wood frame, which gives him plenty of headroom.
I love this one!
That’s his classic “zen bunny” pose.
Right now he’s in the “Sphinx position”, with his feet stretched out in front rather than tucked under. The fire is lit and he’s sucking in as much heat as possible before we send him to bed (with a small heater turned on in his room, of course).
but it’s clear that Albert is the Ultimate Slacker.
I beg to different if Albert is the Ulitmate Slacker. 🙂
so that I could get away with this.
And how unslackerly of you to get your puter problems solved (or at least worked around) so fast.
I’m still off. I’ve got an old desktop that’s running on an Umbutu disk. It’s so very slow. I’m still trying to get the lap top fixed, but don’t want to spend more money fixing it, than it would cost to buy a new one.
Like most rabbits, Albert is a crepuscular creature. He has his morning run around the house, and his evening one. In between are many, many naps with the occassional foray into the bedrooms if the doors are left ajar.
It’s all Albert!
having heard that the pool was open.
chipmunk soup – my fave!
Beware the Fark Squirrel, you may get more than you bargained for…
heh
Open for what?
it’s a day spa. Can’t you tell?
Actually, I couldn’t decide if it was dirty laundry, or a skimming of ice, that I could see in that water. Or none of the above.
Mud bath maybe, or drool.
Good eyes. The picture was taken back in March and that is a skim of ice — I wasn’t fast enough to get the picture I wanted when he was actually standing on the ice.
Ah, March. I thought the photo was current, or I’d have gone with ice for sure.
Today is actually sunny, but with gale force winds. A good day to get caught up on laundry – as long as I use lots and lots of clothes pins!
Looks like Luna’s got her fill of being sand (gravel?) blasted out in the drive and has come up onto the front deck where there’s a bit of shelter from the wind.
How is Luna doing now? Is she eating yet? That is too scary.
She’s fine. She eats fine (and lots) as long as a mush her food up into small bits.
At this point we’re just waiting to see if things get better, or worse, on their own. The vets best guess is a nerve problem somewhere that’s causing the strange eating practices.
She still plays with her chew toys, and bounces about like nothing is wrong, so we’re at a loss to explain the dainty eating.
Ah well – how old is she? We all get weird & fussy when we age. I lost a dog once that just stopped eating, so it scares me. Now I rejoice when my two daily redefine the phrase “wolf your food.”
She’ll be three next month, so it’s not age. Nor is it a lack of appetite (and as if on cue, she’s just shown up and is dragging her bowl on the concrete to announce that it’s empty and that I should do something about that).
She moved out of our place earlier this year to take a job at the National Library in the Australian Capital Territory (the ACT is similar to D.C). Apparently this car is a common site in Woden, the suburb where her housemate works.
The funny thing for us, is that this is the exact make, model, and color of our car (if not our alpacas).
We may have one this color in the future, as our friend (who we bought our first two from) has a new stud male this color named “Josh”. We were going to breed Nina to him this year, but decided to give her the year off instead.
I figured nobody would mind a little color. This is a new addition to the family. It`s mate was killed by a raccoon & the man [little ass] of the house wanted to kill it to put it out of it`s misery. It kept plaintively calling for it`s lost love. The lady of the house asked if we could take in another poor soul.
There`s always room for one more at our table.
We call him “ART”
Art looks like one of our locals – the Eastern Rosella.
I took this photo some time last year.
The many Green Rosellas live on our block, but the two don’t seem to mix.
Here’s one of the many Green Rosellas that come around to eat nectar whenever the trees are flowering.
WOW & ZOWIE, KERES, that`s amazing that you have those around your place. I had never seen a green before. Thanks a lot for the pictorial response. Here`s one of my little friends. I took it a few days ago, but we`re quite familiar with each other. This is taken from less than three feet away.
When Imogen came to stay with me in California, we had three hummingbird feeders just outside the window. Mostly we got Rufus Hummingbirds.
One day when we were standing by the feeders I took her hand and kept moving it very slowly towards the feeder until one sat on her finger to feed.
They are amazing little beauties. Here`s one I`m teaching how to fly.
This is Iris, an Anna`s hummingbird. I have pix of her flying off my hand. she lived in the house for about six weeks till she was ok to fly free outdoors. Sometimes we be looking for her everywhere only to find her sitting next to an African Grey, about 200 times her size. She would jump into one of my freshwater fish tanks & scoot around like a little jet ski.
