Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone!!!!! We did warn you there would be special Froggy Bottom Cafes once in awhile and I thought today was a good day for one. LOL
Doing okay. Taking it one day at a time and doing the best I can. Thank you for asking. The main concern right now is finding some place tom live by the 17th. LOL
I always tell myself, no matter how bad it is, things do get better. A lot of times it’s hard trying to keep a positive outlook, but ya gotta keep trying.
What was that going on in town today? I haven’t seen the streets blocked off like that since the lumber yard burned down. How many strings do the locals have to pull to block off a state highway?
The parade features a highly competitive celebrity look-alike contest. Here, two of our neighbors wait for the Billy and Dusty Gibbons category judging.
Well as much as I tried, I haven’t closed my eyes all night. I finally decided at 4:00 am to make a pot of coffee and that’s gone. Funny, now I’m a little sleepy though.
ROTFLMAO!!!! Believe it or not Billy the Beagle( a former loved pet) hated to get wet in any way and I would almost have to drag him outside if it were wet. Reba is quite fussy also. She will go outside when it is wet but is back in so fast I wonder if she just holds it till she is about to burst. LOL
We don’t have fussy dogs regarding rain. If it is absolutely pouring they will balk at going out, but if it is just some rain, no problem.
Now thunder is a different matter for Giddy. She begs to go outside anytime there is thunder. She gets under our back porch with her back up against the foundation and will not come out until she senses the storm is over.
LOL Have fun. I am going to go take a nap. I have been up since 3:30 am and did not sleep well the night before. I have black beans cooking in the crock pot and will be adding rice and spiced ground beef and tomatoes later.
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 tablespoon lime juice
* 1 tablespoon soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon chili powder
* 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 2 medium zucchini, cubed
* 1 red onion, chopped
* 1 (10 ounce) box frozen corn
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 8 flour tortillas
* 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
* 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
DIRECTIONS
1. In a medium bowl, combine the Worcestershire, lime juice, soy sauce, and chile powder. Add the shrimp and marinate 15 minutes.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the zucchini, onion, and corn for 10 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Cover to keep warm and set aside.
3. In a separate skillet heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until the shrimp are pink. Combine the shrimp and the vegetables. Place shrimp and vegetable mixture in tortillas; sprinkle with the Monterey Jack cheese and cilantro.
Not too bad. It’s been on and off drizzle and constant gale force winds – so not much in the way of outside activities.
It’s 10:30am here, so I’m just getting ready to make us some Sunday brunch – crapes with homemade quince compote. Luna’s having dog roll and kibble which has all been run through the food grinder. Albert is alseep under out bed. So, it’s the usual Sunday morning.

Morning again RF. Great graphics.
Morning FamilyMan!!!!! I just thought we needed a special cafe today. LOL
I think it’s a great idea.
How have you been doing?
Doing okay. Taking it one day at a time and doing the best I can. Thank you for asking. The main concern right now is finding some place tom live by the 17th. LOL
I’ve been out for a few days and didn’t know you were looking. You know I wish you luck.
It is just one more layer to the mess my life has become. LOL
I always tell myself, no matter how bad it is, things do get better. A lot of times it’s hard trying to keep a positive outlook, but ya gotta keep trying.
LOL That is what I keep telling myself. LOL
Good for you!
GREAT frogs!!
I love the mariachi frog.
I love the frogs!
Hmmm…Cinco de Mayo…does that mean we have to drink margaritas later?
Viva! Lovely froggies, rf!
Hey, shouldn’t you be appraising farm machinery somewhere, you servant of the people? 🙂
I think that’s “suckler at the public trough”;-)

that Andi was spotted wearing a dress and all the locals turned out to see if it was true.
I’m sorry but I’m not familiar with that item of clothing.
Actually it was the town’s version of Cinco de Mayo, aka the spring blossom parade.

I’m not doing hellos in both cafes — too much effort. (Hah, I’m a better slacker than FM!)
LOL Hi Miss Andi!!!!Welcome home!!!!
Is this the person that just got back from a week of work? Slacker my patootie! 🙂
by barely moving from the couch last night.
Well as much as I tried, I haven’t closed my eyes all night. I finally decided at 4:00 am to make a pot of coffee and that’s gone. Funny, now I’m a little sleepy though.
I wish. Got relatives here and FMom has been getting up early for some reason. In a little bit, I’ll get the kitchen cleaned and start breakfast.
But I bet the pack is waiting for their walk. LOL
It poured last night so they may have to wait till it dries off a bit.
I don’t blame you. I know they wouldn’t care but slogging through mud with a pack of dogs is no fun. LOL
Hah! I got you both beat. George won’t go out even if there’s dew on the grass. Plus he’ll burst before he does anything in the house.

Hi Jim!!!!!
The family is stirring and I think even George is ready to chance it outside.
See ya’ll later.
Have fun!!!!
waiting for me so I guess I’ll follow FM out the door.
Later.
Can I clear a room or what?
Are you the singing frog? I just got here and I see all those folks climbing the walls. Sing away, I’ll just dance.
Sorry, my singing days are long over. Feel free to dance though.
Morning Boran2!!!!
Good morning, refinish! Nice froggies!
Thank you!!!! I do try and find some interesting pictures to doctor up. LOL
Some day I’ll put together the funds to replace my roughly 10 year old Adobe Photodeluxe software. Until then, I’ll just enjoy your efforts.
Is this our one week reunion show?
Good to see everyone – er, I guess I’m late to the party, as usual.
LOL I guess. I just thought Cinco de Mayo called for a special diary. LOL
I’m glad you put it up, RF. Got any big plans for today?
LOL housework, packing and mess like that. LOL How about you?
Taking the mr to the airport ina few minutes for 2 weeks in Europe – then it’s party time! 😉
LOL Have fun. I am going to go take a nap. I have been up since 3:30 am and did not sleep well the night before. I have black beans cooking in the crock pot and will be adding rice and spiced ground beef and tomatoes later.

That and “mas cerveza por favor” are about the only two things I know in Spanish, and I don’t even drink. 🙂

Hi keres.
How have you been?
Not too bad. It’s been on and off drizzle and constant gale force winds – so not much in the way of outside activities.

Sounds like a really relaxing morning, except for the gale winds.
We’re pretty used to them. We joke that we should call our place “windy hill”.
All we really need is a couple of big wind turbines and we could make all our own electricity.
Hi everyone! In the past two days, I’ve seen four different groups doing their thing, Aztec-style. I love mi cultura.
Hope you’re all having a safe weekend. paz
