Welcome back.
This week we’ll be continuing with our 5×7 painting of the new Gehry building in New York City. It is seen in the photo directly below.
When last we were together, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time, I have continued working on the painting. I have painted the outlines of the various segments that will help define the edges of the building as the painting progresses. I’ve used a diluted version of the blue to cover the sky and foreground. Yes, this blue (or a derivative thereof) will likely be a dominant color in this piece.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
That’s about it for now. See you next week.
Paint me a picture of your thoughts.
the building itself looks like stonehenge compressed and high-rised.
good morning, b2
Good evening, Miss D.
Good morning B2. Just curious are you painting in oil or acrylic?
Good evening, Kahli. This is acrylic as are all of my paintings. Oils are wonderful but they made me crazy.
a bit faster drying and not quite as messy as oils. I don’t have a problem with the latter as I am pretty messy in any medium.
I’ll have to look into those.
The artists I’ve met seem to definitely prefer one medium over another. It is interesting to me, a non-artist.
