Recently, in Parade Magazine, Elaine Chao, our Secretary of Labor, said:
American employees must be punctual, dress appropriately and have good personal hygiene.
I guess she’s saying this because she believes that they are not exhibiting these personal traits at this time.
Why would the Secretary of Labor go out of her way to run down American workers?
The most important question, of course, is what Mitch McConnell, her husband, believes about this.
Does he, too, believe that American workers are usually late, incorrectly dressed, and filthy?
If so, why does he believe this?
If not, why does his wife say these things? Is she being paid off by Chinese manufacturers who are trying anything to destroy American businesses and labor?
Or: American executives must come in whenever they feel like, dress chicly, and have a good pedicure before adjourning to their beach homes.
If you’re a Republican, you can do what you want. You can be an economic traitor, and terminate American jobs, and you will still be welcome in Republican party affairs.
It’s simply appalling.
Left unsaid is exactly how American workers will achieve these standards when they are paid substandard wages and continue to experience dwindling benefits.
