Don’t be shy! Now’s your chance to de-lurk and say hello!

May the 4’s be with you
Sorry for being late with today’s thread, my internets were MIA until about 10 minutes ago.
Say hello to the newest member of the Frog Pond
Since we haven’t had a proper party to celebrate the 5000 milestone, let’s break out the bubbly!
Oh. My answer to the question:
and others on the blogroll at AZNetroots
How about you?
Good afternoon, Manny!
I stop by at The Albany Project now and then. I know lipris (phil anderson) and NYBri from many DK meet-ups in NY.
In fact, there will be another coming Tuesday 🙂
buenas tardes, ask! Thanks for letting us know about the meetup, perhaps others in the area will be able to join the merriment.
That would be great, if BT members/lurkers show up. I intend to go.
Hiya Manny and ask.
Can’t say I really go to local/state blogs except for new/weather. I’ll have to correct that.
I’ll have a little bit of the bubbly and I think Andi, SN and CG will be very put off if Boran doesn’t give you a big hug. 🙂
hi, family man. far be it from me to cross those three 🙂
If it’s Philly you gotta go to Young Philly Politics. But don’t forget to check out Carnacki.
thx for the links, BooMan. Anyone else? C’mon, don’t be shy
Hi Manny!
In answer to the question: none whatsoever. Two possible explanations suggest themselves, both of which pertain to my current locale (central Arkansas):
A. To do so would involve coming to think of myself as a resident of the place, not someone who’s just passing through. Now, truth be told, if I am passing through it’s a very slow pass. Don’t take my denial from me; it’s all I’ve got!
B. It never occurred to me that anything interesting might be happening here.
Hi! I saw you in the comments yesterday and meant to drop you a line to see how things were going, glad you stopped in to the lounge.
A quick flirtation with the Goggles, tells me that there are a few sites out there
Hope you’re doing good!
Thanks for doing my work for me! Now, if I refrain from pursuing the links you provided, we will know that the explanation is A…
I’m doing okay; thanks for asking. Been traveling; some time on the west coast, some time on the east. It was great to get away, but doing so rejuvenated my sense of the (to my eyes) many deficiencies of this place. Hence my evident crankiness regarding the local scene.
Okay, I’m going to take a peek at those sites, but only if somebody reassures me that it won’t mean this is my home! It’s just a transition … I swear …
Good as always to hear from you. Things going well?
Traveling is always fun, I need to do more of it. Someday soon…
things are going well, the summer has been fairly mundane with work and the fires of hell known as our weather. i’m planning a get-away for the week of Labor Day, hopefully the cards get dealt in my favor and I can return to Ensenada, Baja California, Mx.
I’ll be crossing my fingers for the cards to go your way.
I’ve never been to Baja California. I imagine it’s gorgeous there.
I recommend three or four blogs/portals for politics here in the upper left hand corner of the map:
I also recommend Sightline and Tidepool. Jesus’ General is from around here somewhere, although I don’t recall the exact location of his secret undisclosed bunker (and he isn’t quite so concerned with local politics in any case except when it’s funny to do so).
This is going to be an interesting part of the country to watch come next year. Not only is Gordon Smith going to face some opposition in his re-election bid in Oregon, there are plenty of people in Washington who, thanks to the Mighty WurliTzer smear machine, are convinced in spite af all evidence to the contrary that Dino Rossi was elected governor of Washington and are spoiling for a rematch. And then there’s Bill Sali over in Idaho . . .
Awesome, Omir! Thanks!
Hahahaha. Love the cartoon.
That was supposed to be Northwest Progressive Institute. My bad.
I’m afraid a Google search for “Tasmania blog” turned up birders, hikers, librarians and Royal Guide Dogs. Not bad sorts any of them, but not very informative outside of their specific interests.
Here’s an Australia-wide political blog that Imogen frequents:
Larvatus Prodeo
my apologies for being so U.S.-centric, keres. Thanks for that linkage, I’m sure there are other Aussie BooTribbers lurking about.
I’m in NorCal and read calitics
and surf putah
which isn’t really local to me, but I haven’t found a silicon valley political blog (and so far haven’t started one)
thx, esquimaux. wu ming has a great site, I have it on my blogroll. love your sig line, btw.
Manny – you amaze! Thank you. I do so hope you are taking care of yourself.
My blog reading keeps expanding, though not in the state or local direction. I have been lurking at your blog and others from BT which has led to following links to a variety of other blogs – so many blogs, so little time! 😉
thx, tampopo. I hear you about the expanding list of sites to visit, I can’t believe how much is out there but it’s a good thing – the people are fighting back against a system that they know is just not right.
Doing well, keeping busy as usual. Hope life is treating you well!
I go to this one all the time.
I’ve found that blog to be most informative, plus the paintings are pretty good too.
me, too! 🙂 Lookin’ forward to that email so we can definitely meet up this year. I will take time off from work if I have to, you’re worth it, amigo.
Hi to everyone here tonight. I wish to welcome eveyone that is new and hope they stay and write along with us all. Hi to allthe old timers and good to see ya all tonight. It has been a big old hot one here today…105 and that is not the heat index either…;o(
Hug a around and again so good to see ya all tonight…
Brenda, it’s so good to read your voice more often around here. I hope the summer has treated you well despite the heat. I know it has worn on me here in the desert, but that doesn’t stop the desire to see a better political system in place! Always good to read you, paz
I’ve been having massive computer problems, so I’ve only been able to come on sporadically these past two weeks. After an hour with HP tech support tonight, I really really hope all is good now. But, if not, they seemed quite willing to go the extra mile to make it so.
I live in the SF/Bay area of CA, so my local politics are already very liberal. I just don’t see the need to do much on a local level. Hell, my Rep is Barbara Lee (who I think should be our next president).
I suppose I could harass Pelosi some, but she is over in SF and gets buckets of harassment already.
I’m either just interested in national politics or very lazy. :>)
I did get into a debate with Kid Oakland over our new mayor Ron Dellums and now that Dellums has done zip for Oakland and crime is rampant, I feel vindicated. ;>)
Kamakhya, sorry to hear about the computer problems. The Flying Spaghetti Monster knows that I’ve had them, too. My laptop is dying a slow death 🙁 You should check out your local scene, it seems to me like we’re able to move the meters better when we’re mobilizing ourselves and neighbors to bitch at local politicos who are gaming the system.
Of course, you better check in here regularly, as well 🙂 My best to you and Kamakid as she starts the new school year.
Anyone new or newish to the Booman Tribune? This thread is for you!
What the hell? Do you ever sleep? Go to bed, young man.
Someone needed to pull me over and issue a BUI.
