As I’ve tried to explain to people that attitudes often express the world we would like in, rather than the one we actually do. But the point is often lost on people, and that, too, is quite predictable.

Thanks for that link. I’ve been fascinated for years by the whole idea of myths or urban legends. It’s truly amazing how many ideas you absorb as kids and young adults and believe them to be true-why wouldn’t you-only to find out if you’re lucky that most common urban legends and myths are just that..a bunch of crap. And how many just get passed from one generation to another.
