Thanks for the new cafe. They sure do load a lot faster when I don’t have to move all the empty cups and dirty plates out of the way first. 🙂

I keep trying to remember to do it before bed, but I’m always falling asleep before I get to it.

How are you doing?  No travel for you this week, I hope.

No work trips on my schedule till some time in November, unless something comes up on short notice.

Even better news — the hot weather is supposed to be gone by Wednesday.

            Yay!

Saturday was undogly humid here, but yesterday dried out and was so nice I walked 6 miles instead of the usual 5.

I have a work trip coming up 2 weeks from tomorrow…I’m dreading that one.

Sorry about the trip — hope it’s a short one to somewhere nice with people who are pleasant to work with.

Giddy is telling me that I need to be competitive with you on miles and there’s no time like RIGHT NOW to start!

So off to woods (but I probably only do between 3-4 miles so you’ll keep right on being the champ).

            See ya.

It’s a quick trip to Dallas (less than 48 hours), but the meeting is in a chi-chi spa hotel, so I might be able to squeeze in a pedicure since I’m not obligated to do all the dinner and schmoozing stuff. I don’t think I know any of the folks who are going to be there (well, maybe one of the clients from previous business a few years back)… 🙂

            Morning CG and Andi.

You two are so lucky to get to travel. 🙂

Its been pleasant down here and we’re even getting some rain.  I’m just waiting for the first frost.  Probably in Dec.

Glad your weather is mellowing out.  And it’s good to see you- you’ve been missed!

I’m wishing for a little cold snap so that the leaves (which are beginning to turn) will get those brilliant fall colors.  Right now we have yellow and brown, with a hint of orange.

I was over at Olivia’s last night, and she has some very pretty pictures of tree turning.  Down here the pine trees just get a little darker.  Don’t know why it isn’t as big a tourist attraction as up North. 🙂

Our cold snap down here has been the high 80’s, but the rain does help.

I was initially up at 4:00 with the crazy dogs, but went back to bed until a reasonable hour.  Seems like a pretty morning and it’s heading up to near ninety again.  The young Nature Boy has an off day from school and will probably sleep in to celebrate before I pack his day full of manly chores.

There’s a 40%-50% chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday but I’ve seen that forecast turn to dust way too many times over the last 3 months so I’m not believing it until the ground is actually soaked.

We’ve gotten some rain the last two days, but not nearly enough.  One good thing is they’ve lifted the burn notices down here, so we have to be doing better.

And this is probably my last week for walking in the morning — it’s getting light enough to see too late. 🙁

Or maybe I’ll walk in the dark with a headlamp. 🙂

No rain at all, but highs in the 70s are coming next week!  I’m waiting for a hard freeze, which of course is months away. It’s been a horrible summer for fleas.  Everything I try for both the dog and the cats has been ineffective and Hopey’s scratching in the middle of the night drives me crazy.  The vet said Frontline has been around long enough now that fleas are becoming resistant to it….and now K9 Advantix is losing it’s effectiveness.

    How is everyone today?

I am SO glad it’s Friday.  I have the work project from HE-double-hockeysticks that I’m working on, and I can’t wait to forget about it for 2 days.  I took it on for someone who’s out on maternity leave, so I picked it up midstream (bad idea in the first place) and now I have a meeting with 7 talks that I’m working on slides for, and only 1 of the presenters can deign to get me his slides before the end of next week (the meeting is on the 10th). Of course I’m going away when they will finally all send their slides to me.  I guess they’ll have to do something about that in the office…

Oh, and did I mention that the client/agency doing the logistics still hasn’t identified a speaker for the last talk?  A freakin’ disaster.

I think I need some coffee.  Or something.

      I’d suggest coffee and something.

      And I’m off to walk.

      Ta.

Good morning Andi, ask, SN and CG.

We’re still in the 80’s but we’ll have a low of 53 tonight.  I’m still ready for the highs to be in the 50’s though.

I’m like CG and I need some coffee.

Hay, FM, I’m ready too.  I’ve had to use the a/c the last couple of days.

        Hiya Boran.

I’m ready for the between months to get here.  What I mean is those months when you need no a/c or heating and the power bill is at its lowest.
