Five out of the thirty lunatics in the House that voted against the rule of law for mercenary armies come from the Peach State. The company is based out of North Carolina and Illinois so there is no regional reason for the Georgian contingent to be so protective. In fact, among the North Carolina and Illinois delegations, only retiring Denny Hastert voted against this bill. He was joined by the criminals, John Doolittle, Don Young, and Rick Renzi.

In a word, the remnants of rural Jim Crowism are still with us. This association is distant, I know. But shooting guns is a rural tradition in Georgia used in the past to keep “dem other people” in check, and any attempt to put the heat on gun people isn’t going to work well in this state.
