No, it wasn’t too traumatic, but I’m hurting pretty much everywhere – some new moves at yesterday’s practice, with muscles long forgotten.
Is all the turkey gone?
I keep telling myself, one day I’ve got to start exercising.
Which is what I did for the longest time. As I said last week, the only way
to get started was to sign up for a program.
Now, I start to look forward to each lesson and it feels great after, in spite of the exhaustion.
Ugh, I have to get back to work this afternoon because I have something that needs to be in the office tomorrow morning, and another deadline right on it’s heels.
It was so nice to just completely forget about work for a few days.
I’ve always identified more with the scarecrow. I needed the brains to where I would make so much money in early life, I would never have to worry about it. Obviously I never made it to the wizard. 😉
Are you all trying to tell me getting up from my computer chair and walking across the room (at least 20′) to my recliner isn’t considered exercise?
Who knew? Week days I get lots of exercise because I get to walk 35′ out to my mail box and 35′ back. Of course I get Sunday’s and holidays off.
Sounds as if everyone had a wonderful holiday and too much food. . .which is why we have this holiday anyway, isn’t it?
I did my turkey breast and the trimmings two weeks ago so I am at the turkey vegetable soup stage now. Going to turn that into turkey and dumplings tomorrow. It’s all good! But I am pretty much most fond of the turkey and dumplings, something so earthy, so nurturing about it. Don’t know where that comes from, no one in my family ever made it, but I’ll claim it as the best of the end of things.
I don’t know if it’s hunting season around here, but I’ve had two close calls with deer in the past couple of weeks….right in the middle of my suburban, strip mall world.
It’s hunting season down here and deer are everywhere. What surprises me the most is when I’m driving the interstate here and see groups of deer crossing it. Scary.
We saw one on Friday in an open area frolicking with no woods nearby. We thought that it was coming at us but it was running and kicking up its heels, unconcerned about the traffic a few feet away.
Since it’s so heavily wooded down here, there’s always a threat of one running in front of you. More so unfortunately during hunting season.
I wouldn’t mind seeing one in the backyard, but the only wild animals we have back there are squirrels, turtles, snakes and one possum that likes to get into the cat food.
I don’t think we are ever in this place at the same time anymore. Either we are the same person (but then why I don’t I love to smell babies’ heads) or we have drifted into alternate dimensions.
Hi everyone. Just a brief excursion onto the net to tell you all that we are having a great time in New Zealand.
This morning we went on a whale watching trip and saw two sperm whales, several dusky dolphins and albatross – yes, I have photos and I will post them when we get back (Dec. 3rd – late). I’m hoping that somewhere amongst the blurry photos of blurry creatures under blurry water there are a few keepers.
We had a great time on Steward Island, again lots of photos (mostly birds) and even a sound recording or two to share when we get back.
We’re just starting to miss home, Albert, Luna, the ‘pacas, etc. – so one week to go feels about right. We’re picking up a car tomorrow for the last leg of our trip, so we’ll have a bit more freedom to “do as we please” from here on out.
It’s clearing up here this morning, and the temperatures is supposed to drop during the day.
Later this morning, I’m heading over to my old yoga class that I haven’t been to in forever. I can’t wait, and hopefully work won’t interfere before I get there. 🙂
And CBtE heads back to school this AM – yahoo! A quiet house again.
It’s the 3-week spring break that really has me worried. We will have to take a short triip in the middle and plan home projects that require teenaged help then. I think this 10-day break was a little too long.
I’ve been trying to enlist the help of my 8 year old in various projects. It’s not any better than the teenagers. I don’t remember being so uncooperative as a child.
It helps when I point out that there will be no ride to the mall on Friday if there’s no help forthcoming…and some things are easier to get help with than others.
Yes, I finished them yesterday afternoon. They were just a little bigger than I thought they would be, and they fit CBtE better, so he has assumed ownership of them. I took the foot photo, I just need to upload (after everyone is off to school).
I’m about ready to go and get my second cup. I think I’ve gotten to the point to where coffee is just a habit. I don’t get any of the energy from it I used to. I have a feeling I’m going to have to stop for awhile, so I can get back to where I started.
Caf is the only reason I drink coffee anyway, so I see going cold turkey for awhile, and then working my way back into it. However, I do know that if I drank even one cup of coffee late at night, I would never get to sleep. So confusing. 🙂
Yeah I’ve never understood people who can drink coffee after dinner and have to problem from it. If I’m going to be drinking a lot of coffee, I have to cut it off by noon, or it will affect me that night.
Good morning, Andi and FM!
Doctor ordered me to start decaf a few months ago. But there was none left, so this morning has the pleasure of caffeinated coffee.
Until a couple of months ago, I would have agreed; foods and drinks that have the good stuff removed was frowned upon. Light mayo – no taste, light beer – ush, decaf – what’s the point?
But it makes me restless, and I can tell the difference this morning.
You know I can give up doing a lot of stuff from when I was younger, but it seems the food and drink is the hardest to give up. But if it does good for you, do it.
Good morning all. Cold here but it will warm a bit later on. Sorry about the dentist, Andi and CG. I have to go back to mine about this one tooth that aches a bit although he could see no problem with it. Perhaps it’s age.
I can’t believe the long weekend is almost over…
Gee I was under the impression it’s always a long weekend. 🙂
Alright, alright – let’s not get carried away..
Morning, FM!
Have you been dreaming about painting rooms? 🙂
No, it wasn’t too traumatic, but I’m hurting pretty much everywhere – some new moves at yesterday’s practice, with muscles long forgotten.
Is all the turkey gone?
Ah man, I feel for you. I keep telling myself, one day I’ve got to start exercising. Just hasn’t come yet though.
Nope I’ll be eating left overs for awhile. I’m finally out of the gorge and nap phase and show be returning to normal in a few days. 🙂

but I’m hurting pretty much everywhere

I’m sorry Ask, but our outlooks on exercise and pain are vastly different. 🙂
Yeah, I know there is a blaring inconsistency in there somewhere…
But Andi agrees with me:
That’s actually a feeling I like — muscles that ache from exertion. It makes me want to go out and hurt so good so more.
Well I think I’ll stick with sitting on the patio watching George run around the yard. He exercises enough for both of us.
Speaking of exercise, I woke up very early this morning and I think it’s time for the first nap of the day.
See ya later.
Have a good one!
The server is slow. Dawn is almost through and a full moon is setting in the west. Time for a walk.
Do you have to rub it in? 🙂
It’s so cold here today, I think I’m wishing for some of your weather, FM.
I keep dozing off this morning and I haven’t even gotten into the leftovers today.
We’re still in the 40’s at the moment, but we’re supposed to get up to 63 today. I’ll trade ya for some snow.
Save me, obi-ask-fm — only you can save me from going back to work.
Sorry but I’m over in Oz at the moment. However, I will put in a good word with the wizard for you.
Well I guess some courage to face Monday could be useful.
Ugh, I have to get back to work this afternoon because I have something that needs to be in the office tomorrow morning, and another deadline right on it’s heels.

ciao everyone

Oh, and have you ever noticed how chocolate chip walnut cookies go with everything. A very versatile food.
The 20′ is my exercise too. Although sometimes I bypass that and just nod off in my computer chair. Saves so much wasted energy.
Nice to see you.
Thought I tried to metaphorically lighten my mood.
Beautiful picture. With all the leaves on the ground, sort of reminds me of my lawn.
Yep it’s another work week, and we have to trudge back into the grind. Oh wait…… 🙂
Yeah, yeah, rub it in. And just see how much sympathy you’ll get the next time Cat pees on your bed.
Yeah you’re right. But Cat has only done that twice in so many years, and Monday comes around how many times a month. Hah! 🙂
Monday comes around how many times a month
Why, just about the same number of time relatives show up at your place to treat you like a very underpaid servant. 😛
Just had a crash dump. Took forever to get back on.
You do have a point. 😉
Once is too many times, right?
Yep, but not unexpected.
Good morning, Andi and FM!
It’s been pouring down all morning, no reason to go out.
Good morning Ask.
It’s raining here too, but the temp is about 62 so it’s not so bad.
And I see CG has rain as well — sounds like it’s pretty much raining everywhere.
It’s pouring here as well – good thing I got my walk in yesterday afternoon.
And it’s back to work for me today. It looks like I’ll be crazy busy through the end of the year.
Guess I better get my online Christmas shopping started…
Yep wet here too.
Hope you get your work and shopping done with no hassle.
Well, so far I’m doing a great job of procrastinating by putting up the News Bucket.
It is extremely gray and wet here. I guess that means I won’t get distracted with wanting to go play outside. 🙂
I’ve got faith in you CG. You can push that procrastination just a little farther. 🙂
Hah, hah — I’m all done with my shopping. All online, of course.
I have some of mine done, and some more stuff picked out that I just need to order. Hopefully I’ll get that done today.
Good morning all! Its out into the aforementioned rain to work. I second Andi’s yuck.
Good morning ID.
Be careful driving in that rain.
It’s so yucky, I’ll third your seconding of my first yuck.
Watch out for deer in the dark — I don’t know about your place but with gun season going on, they’re really on the move around here.
I don’t know if it’s hunting season around here, but I’ve had two close calls with deer in the past couple of weeks….right in the middle of my suburban, strip mall world.

“See” you all soon.
Glad you are having a great time. Can’t wait to see the pics.
Keres ya had to talk about vacation while poor Andi is slaving away at the keyboard. Next time ya need pictures to rub it in even more. 🙂
Good evening/morning, keres and Andi!
An incredible 58 this morning, but it’s clearing up so I guess it will drop as the day goes by.
Morning Ask.
You’re warmer than we are. It’s at 47 here right now and supposed to go up to 61 by this afternoon.
It’s only 32 here and only getting to the low 40s. But the rain has stopped so at least I don’t have dogs to dry off every time they come in.
Glad you’re having a good time, and I can’t wait to see the photos!

Don’t overstretch and enjoy the quiet.
He just got on the bus…the silence is delightful.
Enjoy the silence. Another holiday coming up soon. 🙂
It’s the 3-week spring break that really has me worried. We will have to take a short triip in the middle and plan home projects that require teenaged help then. I think this 10-day break was a little too long.
I always found teenage help on home projects was never that forthcoming. I hope you have more luck.
I’ve been trying to enlist the help of my 8 year old in various projects. It’s not any better than the teenagers. I don’t remember being so uncooperative as a child.
Morning Boran.
I think that’s called selective memory. 🙂
Good morning FM. I think it’s called slackitude.
Yep you have to start young to understand the intricacies of slackdom.
It helps when I point out that there will be no ride to the mall on Friday if there’s no help forthcoming…and some things are easier to get help with than others.
I’m back, and now I feel all squishy and relaxed…life is good. 🙂
Now if only it was a knitting yoga class, you’d have it made.
Hey, I just have to stitch up the end of the toe this morning, and I’ll be boring you all with pictures of my new socks…
I’m really looking forward to my class. It’s been way too long.
Are the socks done?
Yes, I finished them yesterday afternoon. They were just a little bigger than I thought they would be, and they fit CBtE better, so he has assumed ownership of them. I took the foot photo, I just need to upload (after everyone is off to school).
We’re at a toasty 33 at the moment. Supposed to warm up later. Waiting for the first cup of coffee now.
Sounds like we are having similar weather. It’s 32 now and we’re heading to 55.
Working on my first cup.
I’m about ready to go and get my second cup. I think I’ve gotten to the point to where coffee is just a habit. I don’t get any of the energy from it I used to. I have a feeling I’m going to have to stop for awhile, so I can get back to where I started.
Any big plans today?
I’ve cut way back on the amount of caffeine (2 scoops decaf, 1 scoop caf) but I don’t think I could give it up.
Caf is the only reason I drink coffee anyway, so I see going cold turkey for awhile, and then working my way back into it. However, I do know that if I drank even one cup of coffee late at night, I would never get to sleep. So confusing. 🙂
I don’t drink caf coffee after about 8:00 a.m. so I don’t know if it would keep me up or not.
Yeah I’ve never understood people who can drink coffee after dinner and have to problem from it. If I’m going to be drinking a lot of coffee, I have to cut it off by noon, or it will affect me that night.
Well I’ve got an early morning dentist appointment so I gotta scoot and get some things done. See ya later.
My sympathies to you on the dentist appointment.
See ya.
Hope you’ll get away with just cleaning, and no major works.
Good morning, Andi and FM!
Doctor ordered me to start decaf a few months ago. But there was none left, so this morning has the pleasure of caffeinated coffee.
and bye. Can’t hang around today (see above). Ta.
I just don’t see any reason at all in drinking coffee if it doesn’t have caffeine in it.
Until a couple of months ago, I would have agreed; foods and drinks that have the good stuff removed was frowned upon. Light mayo – no taste, light beer – ush, decaf – what’s the point?

George just let me know he’s ready to go out. So I guess I’d better head out.
See ya later.
Very chilly here…but sunny, so I’m looking forward to a brisk walk later.
Sorry about the dentist, Andi. I have to go Monday for a cleaning and I’m not looking forward to it.
I agree, coffee should have at least a little caffeine in it, otherwise, it’s a “why bother?”
I haven’t had my coffee yet, and I’m a little stiff from yoga yesterday…
Good morning all. Cold here but it will warm a bit later on. Sorry about the dentist, Andi and CG. I have to go back to mine about this one tooth that aches a bit although he could see no problem with it. Perhaps it’s age.
Good morning, Andi!
Saw the dog blog; that pack is living in paradise.
Yeah, we pretty much live in the perfect place for dogs — surrounded by woods and far back from any road so they are free to roam.
I’m going to put up a new cafe thread….back in a minute or two…
