Here’s the thing. We all know Dennis has been right the first time from the start on so many of the issues. Forget Markos, forget the naysayers, forget the ones who want him gone. The Dems are moving toward Kucinich, the progressive’s progressive.
Richard Wolffe from Newsweek certainly thinks so!
Listen Here.
Kucinich notions that once seemed crazy to the Democratic Party ended up front and center Tuesday, Wolffe says, and NPR’s debate format gave the Ohio congressman a chance to shine
and:
“Think what you like about Kucinich and UFOs, but this Democratic field has essentially moved to the Kucinich position on trade, on Iraq, on a whole range of things where people thought he was a real outlier,” he says. “They’re all pretty much in agreement now, when it comes to some of these big issues like trade, like diplomacy and war. And they are where Dennis Kucinich is.”
Think about it. They’re moving to the position of the candiate who was right the first time! Aren’t you glad Dennis is there! And, by gosh wouldn’t it be great to imagin…
A President who’s right the first time. The first time. Period!
And back to the progressive’s progressive point: Dennis has won the poll of Progressive Democrats of America, capturing 41% of members votes!
In the field of eight candidates, the Ohio Congressman was the overwhelming winner, easily out-pacing second-place finisher former Senator John Edwards, who received 26% of the vote. Senator Barack Obama came in third with 13%, followed by Senator Hillary Clinton with 9%, and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson with 5%. The other Democratic candidates were in the low single digits. Kucinich was also the top vote-getter among PDA members in the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire.
It is the third exceptionally strong finish by Kucinich in polls among active, grassroots Democrats. Last month, he topped all other candidates in 47 of 50 states in a poll sponsored by Democracy for America (DFA). Also, a poll conducted by the progressive The Nation magazine showed Kucinich with 35% of the vote, Obama second with 24% and Edwards third with 13%.
Also:
In announcing today’s results, PDA said, “The Congressman’s showing indicates that Progressive Democrats are still in sync with the Kucinich agenda: Out of Iraq; no attack on Iran, single-payer healthcare, fair trade, etc.” The poll was open only to PDA members, and the organization said it added “extra layers of security” to protect the integrity of the survey.
And for those of you who think that a vote for Dennis is a wasted vote, here’s this:

I hope Dennis gets a few delegates. But I agree with many others that he is a flawed messenger. But for those that can’t see the value in Dennis, the diarist is correct. The party is moving left, but Dennis was there from the beginning.
He’s unusually easy to make fun of, that’s for sure. He is, however, the only candidate in the running for president that I could vote for without serious reservations. He’ll get my vote in the primary.
Unfortunately, when the general election rolls around, I’ll be voting for whichever unappealing turkey got the nomination instead.
and I don’t vote for anti-choice nuts like Kucinich.
Listen to his debate style. He is always “me me me I’m right they’re wrong me me me”
Clinton, Edwards, Obama, Dodd, Biden, Richardson answer the questions.
Bwahahahahah…
Me…I’m the only one who has voted against the Iraq War and Occupation and all funding of it.
Me…I’m the only one on stage for Universal Single-Payer Not-for-Profit Health Care.
Me…I’m the one who’s gotten it right the first time on issues such as China Trade, The Patriot Act, FISA and the like.
Yep…he should stop telling the truth and let the others try to answer the questions (which, generally, they have a hard time doing if at all).
You are looking for a selfless Presidential Candidate? Good luck.
