Oliver Willis is kryptonite to stupid.

I wonder if the New York Times will tire of Bill Kristol’s hackery?
The NYT has really gone down the tube.
Ol’ Oliver hit a nerve with Armando there.
Armando blowing a gasket again?
I realize now I wasn’t missing much when the NYT website was fee for service. The opinion writers are a disappointing bunch as a whole, Dowd, Krugman, Kristol, Friedman, ugh. I wonder how others think they stack up against the WaPo writers, which I tend to favor (although they have Novakula)?
completely O/T – do you ever get up to St. Louis? We’re going to have a picnic in June – bloggers, drinking liberally etc. The afternoon of June 21. Very casual.
I do get up there frequently – but on June 21 we’re vacationing in Grant Teton (then Yellowstone). Raincheck but keep me in the loop!
Too bad – but it sounds like a GREAT vacation. Bring back pictures.
We’ll probably do something after Labor Day too. We usually do something twice a year.
heh
For once it was worth reading comments just to see Armando go on record that Jeralyn uses RW talking points.
I put TL back on my RSS feed after NC. Jeralyn is less annoying in defeat.
I’m beginning to worry that something about writing for the front page of this blog makes people go completely insane. Not just a little bit nuts, but lying naked in a pile of salted peanuts, fucking nuts. You and Steven seem fine, but I worry about myself. I’m weak. Should I have myself tested? If so, for what?
Don’t worry, it was clear you were insane before you took the front page gig. All those pandas … 🙂
Pshaw! I was the most well adjusted person you had ever come into contact with when I first came here…And, by the way, pandas are old school. They’ve been co-opted. I’ve moved on to moose.
Aha! The truth comes out that a certain critically acclaimed novelist is being distracted by reading blogs when she should be finishing her next novel! You, you … distracter .. you!
(If that certain critically acclaimed novelist happens to be distracting herself by reading this blog she should know that I just finished Louise Erdrich’s new novel and that made me think of her and wonder when her new book would be coming out.)
ok – that little moose was cute.
“the most well adjusted person”. hmmmm. I’m not sure that’s the description I would have used. Although I did enjoy our late night Gilmore Girls conversations.
Moose?
If nothing else, that was unexpected. Moose are no joke.
Are you saying I’m completely insane and have gone fucking nuts?
Only if it would make you happy. I haven’t looked at your case yet. So tell me, are you completely insane?
You tell me – you cited my posts.
And actually, more to the point, if I had to make a wild guess about what I meant, it would probably be that the subject of your posts (assuming you are who I think you are) is, in point of fact, completely insane and totally fucking nuts. But that just a guess as to what I was thinking. I’m not a mind reader. Make more sense?
And I find this case made more compelling by the fact that, like myself, the subject of your posts used to write for the front page of this website. If you ever did, I didn’t know about it. Sorry. But, again, trying to piece together my own logic is difficult.
So you mean the subject of the posts that I wrote and their applicable source(s), and not necessarily me for writing them?
That’s where my confusion lies, as you wrote about how writing on the front-page makes people insane and “naked in a pile of salted peanuts – fucking nuts” (loved the visual, btw) and yet I’m saying to myself, “I don’t write on the frontpage at Booman.”
So I may be nuts and insane, but I don’t write for Booman and I think that’s where my confusion is centered around right now.
Yes! I think we’re onto something here.
Lol – talk about cognitive dissonance….
Heh
Those people are poster children for stupid. They sound like the freepers, “Is it faked?” “How many were bused in?” And all their infantile excuses. Bleeech.
Doesn’t surprise me that Armando is basically writing the same thing that Bill Kristol is writing. As a commentator at Glenn Greenwald’s place notes:
“Hillary Clinton lost Kansas to Obama by 49 points; lost DC by 51 points; lost Hawaii by 52 points; and lost Idaho by 62 points. So by Kristol’s reasoning, Hillary Clinton — just like Obama — couldn’t possibly be a strong candidate because she lost some primaries by more than 41 points (granted, some of those were caucuses).”

Armanda is a fly in search of ointment to foul. And he appears destined to get stuck in my ointment.
Stupid File: Buying superDs. Can you spell Bribery?
Huffpost:
not surprised.
So sorry–great minds and all that.
🙂
But this is a really, really breathtakingly stupid move.
More Kryptonite please. We’re in dire need.
Honored I’m AP, to be on the same page with you.
Be well.
Now this one just boggles the mind in its stupidity.
Superdelegates Turned Down $1 Million Offer From Clinton Donor
Yes, this man was trying to bribe YDA.
The mind whirls. Really, this is just asinine. Let’s please drop these stupid MFs post haste and take their delusional spew-bots with them. We don’t need our own version of crooks and freepers.
the Borg Queen’s minions promise a convention floor fight, but this episode shows how weak they are. I’d like to see them dare one, based on this kind of pipsqueak, slimy behavior.
Worth reading – the 10 bad breaks/mistakes of the Clinton campaign:

Excuse me, eight. There were many more, but not in this article..! 😉
But it’s interesting the rewriting of history on MI and FL…or rather, how much of what really happened was left out, notably how heavy a hand people from the Clinton’s campaign had in those rules.
I’m very aware of some rewriting of history concerning how FL and MI were moved forward (as well as out-in-out disinformation), but you’ve piqued my interest with your “heavy hand” comment — can you tell me more?
I am aware — in a general sense — of the Clinton’s influence on the DNC, and I’ve written about the attempted coup by Carville, Begala, et al, against Dean immediately after the 2006 election, which seemed an obvious attempt to stack the deck in Clinton’s favor before the 2008 election, but I’m not privy to all the details of the Clinton camp’s influence, if any, in the “stampede.”
Some of the stampede was due to the state parties’ efforts (besides legislatures, and of the opposite party is cases), but I’d like to be able to be able to answer the question of whether the frontloading was part of the Clinton campaign’s plan.
Someone else agrees with me: Clinton’s not a feminist candidate by any stretch of the imagination.
OMG: Please say ‘No, we can’t’ to this overture.
TPM:
No, NO.
Because Clinton’s still the presumptive nominee, amirite? Also, I’m calling it now – Clinton’s going to be on the ballot as an independent.
You know, that really wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Take Wolfson’s comment as reacting to Judas meme..if you’re not for us, you’re a Judas.
HRC’s Time chart has expired…as in political future. Her campaign imploded, ( btw as predicted in 2004). If she runs, she’ll lose.
Her negatives are there. Even her soft supporters would find such a move stunning. LIEberman will be her running mate?
She doesn’t need to win. She doesn’t even need to spend much on the race. She just needs to peel enough support away from Obama that he loses.
she doesn’t need to win?
So what’s the point of running, to spite the Party? Where would that leave her power base?
Seriously without a home. That’s political suicide.
And she needs to raise funds to run as an Independent.
starting from a baseline of $25 million debt before the WVA, KY, Oregon and PR races. Watch how quickly her donors desert her.
Solis Doyle will be great (wo)manning a registration booth or doing door-to-door.
Let’s Go Red Wings!!!!!!!!!!!!!
