I actually feel 2 ways about Friday coming: I’m ready for the week to be over mentally, but at the same time still have a ton of work that I wanted to finish by Friday afternoon, and wish I had just one more day this week. I’m so conflicted. 🙂
The Home section in the LA Times is often worth a laugh read and tonight’s the season finale for Lost, which is necessary because this season has be crazy.
Mr. AP has pulled me in to the Lost world. I’ve got two meetings tonight, so I’ll have to watch it later. But I can’t wait to see what happens. Will have to stay away from the tubes so I don’t read spoilers!
Ooh, that’s lovely. Almost lovely enough to ease the pain of having a conference call that starts in about 20 minutes. Don’t these european folks know I need my beauty sleep? 😉
Coupled with the fact that the work-a-holic client called me at 10 pm last night…oy. The only consolation is that the folks in Chicago had that call at 5:00 am. 🙂
I am so glad I don’t work in the office where this would easily take over my whole life.
My lawn cutter (aka CBtE) cut the grass yesterday (in preparation for being free to socialize this weekend)…he’s been horrified at how quickly the grass grows with the wet weather this year.
Should be one for us — we’re heading over to Cincy this morning. First we’re going to visit the various family folk who are over there and then after that we’re heading down to northern Kentucky where we are going to meet up with … much fanfare … with Nancy Pickard (or kansas as she was known around here). w00t!
Probably not. She kind of gave up on political blogging because eating up her time. She did start her own blog (which was mostly about writing) but shut that down in March (temporarily I hope because it was an interesting place) because she still was way behind deadline.
I’m sure she keeps busy.
More mundane tasks here, uploading images from swimmer’s departure for the prom (they had a boat cruising around Manhattan) + a bunch of other stuff that has been lingering in a folder.
The world better look out, these young ladies are ready for it:
Lots of anticipation.
But I suspect that the biggest deal was the post-prom party (unchaperoned, I believe) which probably just ended as I got up this morning.
Hot weather has arrived here. We’re going to be in the mid to upper 80s all week. I’m sure other people are thrilled but for me, I wish it would never get above 75.
Hey ID, gave your hello to kansas yesterday and she says ‘hiya’ right back. She’s even more delightful (no surprise) in person.
The wind was blowing between 20-30 mph all day yesterday so that kept it from feeling too unpleasant (and made me not regret that I couldn’t go bike riding).
Good morning Andi. These early mornings require a visit to Keres’ Dog Blog. I’ve been MIA for a while and I miss the general critter gathering. I hope she’s not a dropout.
Your photos and hers are my inspiration to survive a particularly drab period in my life. Thanks for sharing your lovely woods.
It’s nice to see you. Keres isn’t a dropout but she’s been very busy so Thursday Dog Blogging has been a bit sporadic but although she’s missed a week here and there (like this one) there are plenty of diaries for you to go catch up on.
You’re very welcome and thank you for the kind words. If you want to see what you might have missed, here’s my spring photo album.
Good morning, CG!
Not much blogging on my part either, until I came across the ‘Prison Ships’ story last night.
swimmer’s been working this weekend, so I have no first-hand report yet. But her mother says she was very pleased about the whole thing.
I think I have election fatigue…that, and the work thing has been crazy over the last week, so I was using my down time as real down time this weekend.
Maybe swimmer will stop by and give you the scoop, now that you’re both in the same neighborhood. 🙂
Is it Friday yet?
Good morning!
Sorry to disappoint you, but only 17 hours to go.
I actually feel 2 ways about Friday coming: I’m ready for the week to be over mentally, but at the same time still have a ton of work that I wanted to finish by Friday afternoon, and wish I had just one more day this week. I’m so conflicted. 🙂
hat are you up to on this gorgeous sunny day?
Just about time for a walk; it’s still cool (53), but will get to 80.
I’m trying to fit in time for a walk today too. It’s beautiful out.
Enjoy yours!
then every day is a friday….
Sigh, I miss Family Man, don’t you guys? Wish he’d get his spit and vinegar back.
Morning, everyone… 🙂
I miss him also. Good morning all!!!
I do too.
So if you’re lurking, FM…we hope you’re feeling up to blogging again soon.
Oh, he lurks….. 😉
I know he does. 😉
So, I’m looking for some simple knitting for a boring plane trip for work…what do you think of this?
What are you up to this morning?
But be careful. You may be marking yourself as a Muslim terrorist sympathizer. We wouldn’t want that, especially on an airplane.
And in other news…you have mail!
Heh. I’m already marked as a subversive from posting here, I’m sure.
You have mail back!

Geeking out on LOST.
In and Out Burgers. If you have NO reason to go to the LA area, go for the greasy goodness that is In and Out Burgers.
I actually make caloric allowances for it. Yum!
I can’t believe they put them in Dharma initiative packaging. Ha!!
down in the antipodes.
It’s another gray morning, and I’m still a bit sleepy.
Good morning Keres
Hey CG, Friday showed up, just for you.

How are you this morning?
That is a crime against humanity. I hope you are charging triple time.
Coupled with the fact that the work-a-holic client called me at 10 pm last night…oy. The only consolation is that the folks in Chicago had that call at 5:00 am. 🙂
I am so glad I don’t work in the office where this would easily take over my whole life.
I really like that one. Are you doing anything special to get that nice green aura other than rising at the crack o’dawn?
It’s just a combination of a heavy canopy, water, and sun at the right angle, which is between 7:30-9:00 a.m. so not even close to dawn. 😉
9 am is about the time my brain is finally getting around to acknowledging that its awake.
Ah, so if I want something from you in your official role, I should call the office as soon as it opens so I can get while you’re still groggy.
That’s when all the largesse seems to trickle out.
Today is the last day for seniors and I have exams and quizzes to administer.
Have a great Friday everybody – even if you have to have a conference call with Europe!
You too! How many more days till you’re on your leave?
June 13th is the last day of school.
Beautiful here today in the Valley but storms are coming tomorrow. At least I won’t have to cut the lawn.
My lawn cutter (aka CBtE) cut the grass yesterday (in preparation for being free to socialize this weekend)…he’s been horrified at how quickly the grass grows with the wet weather this year.
I am so tired of the rain.
Good morning!
I see you up there, Andi.
I see you down here. 🙂

Hope everybody has a great day.
Sounds like a good weekend.
What’s kansas doing in kentucky..? Will we see her here again?
She’s teaching at a writer’s retreat.
Probably not. She kind of gave up on political blogging because eating up her time. She did start her own blog (which was mostly about writing) but shut that down in March (temporarily I hope because it was an interesting place) because she still was way behind deadline.

Looks like they were set to have a very good time.
Lots of anticipation.
But I suspect that the biggest deal was the post-prom party (unchaperoned, I believe) which probably just ended as I got up this morning.
Well staying up all night is just good practice for those cram-fest all-nighters in college. 🙂
Time for me to get going. Hope you enjoy your Saturday.
Hope you have a great trip!
Have fun and please say hello to kansas for me if you see this in time.
Good morning ask! Ah, to be young and off to explore the world! Mrs. Dem & I have two graduation gatherings to attend this weekend.
linky
Well that’s at least one thing I don’t need to be concerned with when out walking in my village.
Good morning, Andi!
A feel of summer here as well, too humid for comfort yesterday w/thunderstorms. Today looks better/drier.
The wind was blowing between 20-30 mph all day yesterday so that kept it from feeling too unpleasant (and made me not regret that I couldn’t go bike riding).
Well, I haven’t been outside yet, but the top of the trees in the backyard are moving quite a bit, so there’s movement of the air.
Good morning Andi & ask. Glad to hear kansas is doing well. I hope the thunderstorms stay away this afternoon. There are graduation parties to attend.
when you have dogs going crazy over raccoon who’s trying to steal the bird’s suet block.
Welcome to Monday.

Wow! Thanks.
When I was in high school we had a stream like yours behind our house and I spent a lot of time there. Your pictures carry me back there.
Now I have a small wood that I can admire but not walk in. Funny how you don’t know what you’ve got ’till it’s gone.
We’re really lucky because we share part of our property line with an 800-acre kids camp so I have lots of woods to wander in.
I feel like I’ve been not-blogging all weekend…
Andi, did you have a nice visit with kansas?
Ask, swimmer and her friends looks like they were off to a wonderful time…was the post-prom party everything they hoped? 😉
Indianadem, I’m sorry I missed you over the weekend.
Hi Alice, it’s nice to see you here this morning.
And hi to anyone else I missed on my qick glance through the older comments.
I have a busy work week ahead of me…and all I want to do is take a nap. Where is FM when you need him?
Good morning, CG!
Not much blogging on my part either, until I came across the ‘Prison Ships’ story last night.

And now I have to go read the Prison Ships story…
Jim and I had a great visit with kansas. Lots of good talk.
Good morning, everyone!
Canoe Meadows in the Berkshires (a week ago):
That looks lovely, ask. Do people actually canoe in Canoe Meadows?
I doubt it is permitted since it is a bird sanctuary. But the Housatonic River, which skirts the Meadows, is popular for canoeing and rafting.
Another from that morning:

Those are both really lovely pictures, Ask. Thanks for posting them.
It’s hard to go wrong in nature, and the light was very cooperative that morning.
Good morning all. I’m almost glad to be back at work. The yard work is really getting old.
