I awoke this morning to find I had quite stupidly forgotten to replace the coffee pot in the brewer last night when I set the thing to go off with the timer. Oy, what a horrible mess! Hope everyone else’s day began much better than that.
I’ve done that too, as well as forget to add the coffee, so I get up to a nice hot pot of…hot water. Lately I’ve changed to cold brew coffee and boy is it good.
In a nutshell, you mix a pound of coffee and nine cups of cold water and let it brew on your counter top for 12 to 24 hours. It produces a coffee concentrate that you then reconstitute by adding either hot water, or like I do in the summer, cold milk. You get a really rich coffee taste without the acidity, and the concentrate keeps in the fridge for 3 weeks, though we tend to use it within one just because we have so many coffee/iced coffee/iced mocha drinkers around here.
They serve cold-brew at Borders and it’s fantastic. But I remembered reading about it a couple of years ago and thought about trying it but it seemed too weird.
Good morning!
Hope you get many great hikes.
A blast of ‘fall’ back east – only 60 this morning – forecast high only 76. In other words, a superb day emerging outside (still dark).
Good morning all! My co-worker finally had her cancer surgery yesterday and all went well. She was pretty sore last night after waking up, but glad to have it over after months of waiting.
She called the office twice today, just to chat. She’ll still have some radiation to go through and a new chemo pill of some sort that’s not nearly as sickening as the stuff they were giving her before. Thanks for the good wishes – I’ll pass them on.
I’m miss you too. Although with the old computer I could read some stuff before it froze up, I saw the the kids are starting back to school.
School is in here (high school and college). The damned traffic jams are the pitts. I actually had to wait one whole red traffic light until I could get through. I sometimes wonder if people suffer the grid lock we do here?
Thanks Family Man. She was a central committee chairperson in a fairly large county back in the 70’s so you can imagine how feisty this lady can be. I’m glad to hear your hardware is perkier too;-)
I really like old vehicles as subjects, especially when there’s stuff growing up through them. There are a couple of artists here who have done some nice renderings of scenes like that.
And here’s a nice new cafe for you.
I can’t believe /m up this warly…and with allergies to boot.
warly … warily early?
Good morning and gesundheit. 🙂
See, I told you it was really early.
And the outbreak of sneezing seems to have passed, thank goodness.
Busy week this week?
here it is all early again … just like clockwork. 😉
Yeah, but I skipped the early part this morning.

I guess I’m lucky that my geezer trick is to forget the coffee.
I think I must be suffering from TMI after dealing with an 8 month ongoing software and data conversion. TFSM its almost done!
Does that mean we’ll be getting our tax bills from 1964 soon? 😉

What is cold brew coffee?

Sounds like it’s worth a try. How did you ever come across that?

I’m trying it. I’ll let you know how it comes out. Thanks, SN!
Ouch…
Good morning, everyone!
All that coffee talk finally reminded me to turn the maker on…
Good morning, ask! What are you up to today?
I’m planning a most slackerly day. Someone has to pick up the mantle while FM gets his puter back up!
Glad to see you’re ready to take that on. 🙂
We’re off on a round of errand-ish things this morning.
Hi all, posting from redest Utah. I’ll try and post a photo tomorrow. 🙂
Good morning!
Hope you get many great hikes.

Can’t wait to see the pictures. Much happy hiking and shutter pressing to you!
Can’t wait to see the pics! Hope you’re having a great time.
Hi boran2 – hope you’re having fun out there!
Non-epiphany of the day: puppies wake up with loads of energy; I don’t.

Heh. I don’t envy you the early morning energy deficiency, but Bebo is so cute it has to make up for some of it, right?
Oh yeah, she’s very cute with her obnoxiousness. 🙂
Hey, you know the job was dangerous when you took it? 🙂
It’s gorgeous walking weather here, how is it at your place?
We’ve been having very nice weather here — not too hot. But it’s been really dry (no rain for 3 weeks) and I’m really ready for some wet.
Speaking of walking … time to go.
See ya.
Good morning all! My co-worker finally had her cancer surgery yesterday and all went well. She was pretty sore last night after waking up, but glad to have it over after months of waiting.
That’s good news. ID. I hope she has a speedy recovery and the rest of her treatment is successful.
She called the office twice today, just to chat. She’ll still have some radiation to go through and a new chemo pill of some sort that’s not nearly as sickening as the stuff they were giving her before. Thanks for the good wishes – I’ll pass them on.
Hi ID
I’m so happy to hear that for your co-worker. Although I don’t know her, my thoughts go to her and I’m overjoyed it’s over.
BTW my computer is fixed and I’ll be around more.
Hope everyone is doing fine.
Yay! I missed you, FM.
Hiya CG.
I’m miss you too. Although with the old computer I could read some stuff before it froze up, I saw the the kids are starting back to school.

Glad your puter is back. We missed ya.

I miss all your pictures from the Thursday Dog Blogging.
Thanks. I miss posting them. If keres doesn’t come back soon, maybe I’ll start doing a critter blogging diary now and again.
Anyway, here are some pictures (including our newest dog, Bebo) until she does or I do.

That middle photo seems to say, “C’mon Mom!”
From, southern Utah, I couldn’t resist this pair of Chryslers by the side of the road.
I see a future painting there. 🙂 How is the trip going?
As good as can be expected when traveling with a winey 9 year old. 😉
We’ve seen quite a bit of Utah. It really is amazing, even just the roadside vistas.
I really like old vehicles as subjects, especially when there’s stuff growing up through them. There are a couple of artists here who have done some nice renderings of scenes like that.
Here’s a sample of one of my brother’s lifelong friend’s paintings he calls “Chevies”
The paintings on his site titled “The Woodman’s House”, “The Joy Farm” and “Autumn Rendevous” all use my brother’s farmhouse as the model.
I like it!
Let me get this straight. You went to Utah to see cars in a field of overgrown grass?
Oh Boran have I got vacation spot for you. Hey I can put a tent out in my front yard and……….. 🙂
Hope you’re having a good vacation.
If you’re still awake, hi (and I’m sorry). If you’ve made it to bed, yay (and see ya later).
I’m a sucker for decrepit vehicles. 😉
please and thank you.
Coming shortly. 🙂
