Will President-elect Obama campaign for Democrat Jim Martin against slime bag Saxby Chambliss in Georgia?
The answer might show just how aggressive Obama is willing to be– or, how conciliatory he wants to appear.
I vote that he puts a full court press on to snag the senate seat. If he’s willing to let Lieberman stay in the caucus then he’d better make it worth while with another pick up.
He needs to lay the proper groundwork so that he can come in at the end and claim another victory. It appears that this is happening, but I expect we’ll see more after Thanksgiving, building to a crescendo on election day.
If he goes to GA in person and we lose the election the MSM will paint it as “the first sign of weakness?” and “another sign that he needs to pull back to the center-right, where America’s heart really lies…”
So, now that Martin has lost, I bow to Obama’s greater wisdom in not appearing personally.
In retrospect, Martin probably didn’t have a chance no matter what Obama did. Polling probably told Obama this. Common sense should have told me.
