Alaska ethics probe report says Governor Sarah Palin “abused” her power in order to benefit personal interests
Alaska ethics probe finds Palin abused her power
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) – An Alaska ethics inquiry found that Gov. Sarah Palin, the U.S. Republican vice presidential candidate, abused the power of her office by dismissing the state’s public safety commissioner, a report released on Friday said.
The investigation centered on whether the firing of the state’s public safety commissioner was linked to Palin’s personal feud with a state trooper who was involved in a contentious divorce with the governor’s sister.

Enjoy the McCain camp spin. Earlier today the McCain-Palin camp made available their version of events with a complaint from Sarah Palin – she was never interviewed.

Stephen Branchflower Report To The Legislative Council
Nixon, Reagan and Bush II are all from the same cloth; Abuse of Power.
For Palin and other wingnuts this report will be worn as a badge of honor.
Earlier as the Alaska Legislature debated whether or not to make the report public, The Independent, UK reported [emphasis in original]

It’s a PDF, dontcha know?
Kudos. Glad they made it public. We’ll need to ponder the consequences.
Obama’s camp needs to be careful. The GOP is expecting him to now directly attack Palin on this issue, and they get to play the sexism/”black man attacking a white woman” card.
Obama needs to ignore this. It’s not about Palin, it’s about the economy and McSame’s erratic judgment. The McSame camp wants Obama to change the subject from the economy to Troopergate.
Don’t fall for it Barry.

A transcript of the brief conference call was posted on the Web site of TV station KTUU. In the call, Palin was asked, “Do you think you did anything wrong at all in this troopergate case?” The governor replied, “Not at all. And I’ll tell you — I think that you’re always going to ruffle feathers if you do what you believe is in the best interests of the people whom you are serving.”
