We’re doing the usual tonight — my older sister has a small party. We start and end the year with the only party we (willngly) go to.

What are you young ‘uns up to?

I love that photo!  Happy new year to all!  We’re getting a snowstorm right now but thankfully won’t be traveling too far tonight.

I guess it’s time to wear my reading glasses while blogging.  I thought you said that you hope the new year brings everyone warts.

Hope everyone has a fun, safe, and happy evening, and that the new year is filled with all sorts of good things for everyone.

(We’re heading out soon, but should be back in time to watch the ball drop here at home.  I’m afraid to drive during prime drunk time.)

Good morning from New Year’s Day!

For the first time in many years we actually stayed up ’til midnight.  We watched movies interspersed with watching the firework displays over Hobart (at 9pm and midnight) from a friend’s house.

Today is also the sixth anniversary of my arrival in Australia.

We had our New Years fling and just arrived home to a large selection of free movies from the county library collection (good idea, keres). I’m well stuffed with filet, shrimp scampi and cherries jubilee. Maybe it wasn’t traditional fare, but boy was it good!

Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone!

This morning the dogs decided it could never be too early to welcome in the new year, regardless of what time the humans went to sleep. Or it could have just been revenge for making them stay out in temps in the teens last night.

We have a vengeful shih-tzu here this morning…I feel your pain.

Well they let me sleep until 6:15 and then Sniff was willing to snuggle with him on the couch for awhile so I guess it could have been worse.

How was your New Year’s Eve? Our was very nice — lots of really good food.

Hi- I’m back from 2 hours of driving around picking up various teenage boys and taking them home.  ðŸ™‚

We had a very nice new year’s eve.  Great food, wonderful company, and I even stayed up long enough to watch bill and hillary light up the ball in times square.  A minor miracle.

Today, we’re off to my mom’s for more yummy brunch food, family Wii games with multiple controllers, and whatever else.

Since we didn’t have our champagne last night (too drowsy to open it up), I guess we’ll do that this evening.

The way Bebo sprawls reminds me a bit of a border collie cross I once had.  I used to call her “the stock dog at the boneless chicken ranch” (a reference to one of my favorite Larson cartoons).
