The last thing you want in a peace negotiator is even-handedness. God forbid.

Yeah, that Foxman’s a piece of work. Ridiculous.
Obama’s phone call to Abbas was not a message to Hamas or Fatah but to ISRAEL. He called a Palestinian first! Appointing Mitchell sends another signal to Tel Aviv. That being what Foxman calls “even-handed” is not and that sort of prejudiced policy will be ending. Give Obama a chance.
Salunga, Mahmoud `Abbas is not a Palestinian in any real sense of the word, he is a henchman of Israel. He helped Israel in their (failed) attempt to get rid of Hamas, and is now counting on Israel to hand over Gaza to him and the thug Dahlan. He is not merely in Israel’s pocket, he is their agent. Given the people Obama has chosen to advise him on the Middle East it would not be entirely surprising if he does not understand this, of course.
As for Foxman, that guy IS a real piece of work.
Mahmoud `Abbas is Palestinian in the same way that Ahmad Chalabi is Iraqi.
With Bibi Nethanyahu and the Likudniks about to take control of Israel, I wonder if Israel’s projected new Prime Minister will brag about how he got Obama and Hillary to change their minds on the inevitable next UN resolution condemning Israeli attacks on Gaza the next time it happens.
Because the next time Israel goes into Gaza, under Nethanyahu, they won’t be leaving unless the US makes them leave.
A little off-topic. I heard that Obama is left-handed, and that something like four straight Presidents were left-handed. Anyone know if this is true?
Bush senior, Clinton, and I believe Reagan were lefthanded as well.
Back to Israel, is Netanyahy’s election a certainty at this point?
Pretty close to that the last time I checked.
This is the type of character who should be running state.
