Is it possible to understand everything by understanding the Star Wars movies? I thought The Big Lebowski was more generally applicable in the universal sense. But maybe there is some other movie that provides the true guide to the universe.

That is TFF.
As to your question, I’ll have to as my son Nick. He has all the answers regarding Star Wars. Personally, I’d stick to Lebowski.
Or The Wild Bunch.
Or The Molly McGuiers
Absolute classic….

My “Answer To Everything” movies are Zero Effect and Buckaroo Banzai but that’s just me.
Star Wars still is pretty good.
Both great films.
Loved Banzai.
The Milagro Beanfield War
Hell yes. I want to speak to Mr. Cantu.
A Princess Bride has been the sanest guide to the Bush Era — especially on torture and manufactured excuses for war.
Have fun storming the desert…
Of course, if you’re looking for the meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything, you should go with A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Always loved the BBC Radio show for any performance of ‘Hitch-hiker’s Guide’….
For movies, though…..Cannot go wrong with either of these Python gems:
“Holy Grail” or “Meaning of Life”
The Wizard of Oz, of course.
That was going to be my answer:
Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa
Dr. Strangelove at least explains the GOP side of things. They’re protecting their precious bodily fluids.
For me it’s Lord of the Rings.
Bridge on the River Kwai, followed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then Rosenkrantz & Guildenstern are Dead.
Then I’ll watch Star Wars.
The Usual Suspects
I like The Magnificent Seven. Bush and the NeocCons represent Calvero and his Mexican bandits.
Plot of the second Star Wars trilogy: The leader of a democratic republic engineers terrorism and war to gain dictatorial powers and destroy the republic.
Plot of the first Matrix film: Everything you see and hear is an illusion enforced by white men in suits. A few individuals, most of them people color, understand the illusion and resist.
Weird, I thought it was the movie Drugstore Cowboy which had all the answers to life.
Hmm..
