If it’s Monday, you gotta read Kagro X so you’ll know what’s going on in Congress this week. In the Senate, it will be the confirmation of Eric Holder to be Attorney General, and the stimulus package. In the House, they will vote on SCHIP again because the Senate amended it. And then they will start work on last year’s Appropriations Bill. They never even introduced bills to fund the government in 2009 (except the continuing resolution) because Bush was going to filibuster everything. So they have to do that now. If you love government spending, this is the week to watch CSPAN.
The White House will remain more entertaining. Here’s his Super Bowl video with Matt Lauer:

If you haven’t checked out the White House site and blog, you should. It’s night and day in terms of transparency when compared with the Bush administration.
Things to watch: Tom Daschle, Judd Gregg, Governor John Lynch of New Hampshire.
Or, maybe the House wants to put off the appropriations a little longer.
“Sen. John McCain said Monday that President Obama and Democrats will have to “seriously negotiate” with Republicans if they want to pass a stimulus plan with bipartisan support.”

Does someone want to send these dolts a memo they are the minority party and as such should compromise? I’m sure they feel that’s beneath them but that’s the way it is.
I still don’t get the deal on Judd Gregg. All indications are John Lynch will in fact appoint a Republican to the seat in former Reagan/Poppy Bush administration official (and current UNH president) Bonnie Newman.
So, why’s Obama doing this again?
Monica Crowley went on for 20 minutes this morning about how awful it was that Obama didn’t wear a tie. That was her central critique.
The Right blogs also don’t like the dis to Jessica Simpson even tho all he did was read the headline.
Get used to the Right hating anything and everything Obama does.
Lauer was a little too familiar for my tastes, but I get that is was Super Bowl Sunday and as Bruce said it was time to step away from the Guacamoli and have some fun
I saw Lauer on Today this morning, and he seemed a little verklempt about not getting invited to stay and watch the game…
“verklempt”
Good word. I’m not surprised. Maybe he forgot to bring the 12 of Heinekens.
