sure made a mess out of the old cafe.

    I miss FamilyMan.

Anybody else getting snow today?  We had that wonderful 2-day interlude of 40-degree weather, and now it’s supposed to go back to winter.

Indianadem on February 3, 2009 at 6:38 am

Yeah, I miss FM too. Hi Family Man, if you’re lurking about!

We had a little powder overnight, just a dusting, as they say. More warm weather coming your way in a few days. I think we’re supposed to be back in the fifties this weekend.

AndiF on February 3, 2009 at 6:46 am

Yep, back in the 40s on Friday and then the 50s and 40s for several days.

According to the radar, more snow will be here shortly (it’s just arriving in Bloomington).

Oooh – more snow. I’m guessing the pack will enjoy it. How’s Bebo’s hurt foot coming along?

          • AndiF
AndiF on February 3, 2009 at 7:03 am

Well I’m kind of hoping some snow will make it easier to walk. The snow that melted here has frozen again and it’s definitely slicker than snot.

Bebo’s much better, thanks. The bandage is off and judging by her behavior it doesn’t really hurt unless she accidentally hits the spot where the nail was removed.

The sky here looks like snow , for sure.

I think today is a good day to make a second batch of cupcakes…and upload a photo of the first ones.

Oh, wait until you see the ones I just took of the neighbor’s car hung up on both sides of a stone wall, courtesy of her ‘perfect’ teenage daughter, who I am sure wasn’t on the cell phone or driving too fast around that corner when it happened…  🙂

How are things out your way?  I think we have 3 inches so far, and still snowing (albeit a little more slowly).

I wondered if parents even said things like that anymore – its been awhile;-)

I think we got about 4″ of powder. Too bad the ski slopes aren’t here anymore. Too many warm winters.

We’re getting some snow now, with heavier snowfall to come later.  Driving was very messy here.

We had a dusting too, with more to come today and tomorrow.

Good to hear that warmer weather will follow for the weekend.  I went out for a nice walk yesterday, and could use some more warm-ish air and sunshine.

How did you get the blue border around this?

      • keres
keres on February 4, 2009 at 12:28 am

At YouTube, look for the “embed” code to the right of the video.  To the very right of that box is a little eight-point star (customize).  Click on that. Check the box that says “Show Border” and pick which color you want from the swatches below.  You can also pick a different screen size, but I would only go for the smaller one if you think bandwidth is going to be an issue.  The bigger ones will probably screw somebody up.

Well, we stand outside in the sun. That’s about it.

It’s been a terribly long winter here already. Too cold too soon. Even the old-timers are complaining.

Actually, I’m dying to share new images from this neck o’ the woods with you — but none of the hosting sites I’m familiar with can accomodate (sp?) my ancient browser (IE 5).

Oooh, maybe we’ll have some blue skies today…to go with my  sweater that I finally put the ruffles on (on one side; the rest will get done today) last night.  It is so cute, I can’t wait to wear it.

Think we need a new cafe this morning?

Looks like you have to put up a knitting diary to show off the sweater. I know of someone else who has made a couple of hats since last.

        • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on February 5, 2009 at 7:26 am

I have so many finished objects to show off, too.  Socks, lace shawls, fingerless mitts, purple sweaters, new sweater for CBtE that I started….

I can’t believe what a difference adding the ruffles makes to that little sweater.

          Off to the office today?

            Off to the office today?

That’s the plan, though the wind chill is brutal @ around 3 degrees.

wilderness wench on February 5, 2009 at 10:45 am

            Hope you made it, ask.

WInd chill here — about 100 miles north of you — is probably about 15 below. Lots of snow-blow.

      • AndiF
AndiF on February 5, 2009 at 7:19 am

Is the sweater blue because a picture of it in the FFF would be great.

I dunno about the new cafe but we sure do need some new puppy pictures (I’m sending that hint out into the ether so it’ll get to Tasmania just about the time keres gets up).

I have a flickr question.  I never use flickr but I was going to do a diary and post some photos from DC and some of them are in my cousin’s flickr acct.  Can she mark the ones I want to use “public” and then I can do thumbnails that you can still click through to enlarge?  (While leaving all the rest of the photos in the album private?)  Or do we have to move them to another acct?

      • dada
dada on February 5, 2009 at 3:38 pm

that should work. but when they go back to “private”…assuming they will… they may not be accessible. depending on your cousins’ attitude re: wanting to make their pix “public”…which means anybody with a flkr acct can access them…it might be easier, and less hassle, to just download the ones you want to use and move them to your own acct at photobucket or wherever.

        • maryb2004
          maryb2004 on February 5, 2009 at 3:43 pm

moving the ones I want to photobucket was my first choice but I wasn’t sure if that was the most efficient solution.

Part of me wants to let her control how long they stay public since they are her photos – if I move them to photobucket then I control them and she doesn’t.  On the other hand, I’m not going to publish anything of a personal nature so it might not really matter to her.

          • dada
dada on February 5, 2009 at 4:33 pm

your first choice, imo, is the correct one. with PB accts, if yours is set to “private”, the photos can’t be searched…once they’re on the web, they’re obviously fair game…but your cousins’ acct remains secure.

l would suggest that you move them. it’s a lot neater and simpler, and should she have any objections in the future, you can kill the links by moving them or deleting them.
