But here are the latest puppy vids from keres to start your day off right.

We gotta have a link to this video too.

Well since you’re taking them back to the diary, I guess people will be able to see them all … because everybody at Boo should see them all or their lives will be empty and incomplete!!!!

See them all, twice!  They are really cute.

Gosh, that’s a cute video.  I’m such a sap that I always feel sorry for mama dogs when their pups are given away.  Whatever will Luna do without that hourly wrestling match on her tummy?

        • AndiF
AndiF on February 17, 2009 at 8:04 am

Fortunately, they can’t be given away until they’re weaned. Plus, Luna looks more than ready for the match to be called in her favor. 🙂

I love how she just looks at them and patiently lies down to go to sleep.

Yep.  They’ll turn four-weeks-old this Friday, at which point I’ll start introducing them to the joys of solid food.  They usually catch on fast.

Also, this Friday, they’ll be making their social debut.  Along with some helpers from my Delta Pet Partners group we’ll be taking them to the nursing home that Luna and I visit weekly.

We’ve invited the press along (OK, one paper, but it’s the big one in Tasmania).  We’re trying to get more people with dogs interested in becoming volunteers.  We have twice yearly assessments and one is coming up in March.  Hence the staged “event”.

Well, you should post that on YouTube for us.  We can finally see the heretofore faceless keres! 😉

keres on February 17, 2009 at 5:57 pm

Uh, no.  I like being faceless on the internets.  Besides, I once posted a photo of our Delta group here at BooMan – obviously, I’m the one next to Luna.  So, now you’ll just have to try and find it. :p

Aw, that’s cute!  But I see you’re not showing that happy slice of tummy like when you were a young lass.

          • keres
keres on February 17, 2009 at 6:14 pm

Probably because that “slice of tummy” is now more like the whole pie.

And just because everyone asks, the dog to the left of us is a Leonberger (named Sarah).  And yes, they really are huge.

          • Second Nature
Second Nature on February 17, 2009 at 6:18 pm

I was wondering about that dog, but I’ve never heard of a Leonberger.  It sounds like they guy who works at the deli.

          • keres
keres on February 17, 2009 at 6:24 pm

It’s a fairly recent breed.  The mayor of the town of Leonberg in Germany wanted to breed a dog that looked like the lions on the town’s coat of arms.  Wikipedia link here.

I like the description as a “beast-like yet dainty” dog.  People often use those words about me.

It’s really a spectacular dog, though.

          • keres
keres on February 17, 2009 at 6:34 pm

Yeah, I thought that turn of phrase was pretty funny.

People tend to shorten it to just “(female) dog” when referring to me.  To which I reply, “thank you”.

We had dial-up until recently.  Now we have DSL through Netzero, our dial-up ISP.  It’s faster than dial-up, but cheaper than true broadband.  You may want to check it out.  It actually comes in over the phone line with a DSL modem that they give you to put on the line.

keres on February 17, 2009 at 4:25 pm

Morning everyone (my morning anyway).  I’m glad you are enjoying the puppy videos.  I, otoh, awoke to poo-y puppies.  They tend to do their poos at night, but last night decided to lie and walk in their poos as well – hence the smell and all the orange patches on feet and fur.

With any luck I’ll learn how to edit (again – video production used to be part of my job) and put together some better clips (as opposed each YouTube being one continuous single take).

We are Michigan residents playing ‘possum in Florida until the ice melts in our very rural, very beautiful Northern Michigan home. We watch USGS “Real Time Stream Data” to monitor the ice melt, and GoogleEarth to see as our long driveway clears. Spring will come.

    • Second Nature
Second Nature on February 17, 2009 at 8:12 pm

That is very smart. I’ve visited the YooP in winter many times (Sault Ste. Marie) and it ain’t fit for man nor beast.

    • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on February 17, 2009 at 10:07 pm

Florida sounds like a plan this time of year, especially if the YooP is the alternative.  🙂

I love your creative use of stream flows and google earth to see when it’s time to head home.

That is so funny.  And the way she shifts herself at the end, and all puppies just move right along with her.

I bet Luna will be delighted when it’s time for solid food.  🙂

keres on February 18, 2009 at 4:39 pm

I actually fed them some very finely chopped beef last night.  Squeak was all for it, the other two just made a mess of it.

I’ll start giving them some solid food everyday from now on and see how we go with that. They’re dogs, it’s food, usually there’s no problem getting the two together.

          • maryb2004
            maryb2004 on February 18, 2009 at 7:29 pm

I don’t think so.  Phil died quite a while ago.  But he remained around – stuffed.  I’m not sure if he’s still there.  They re-did the whole primate/ape/orangatan section and made it much friendlier for the inmates.  They might have thought Phil was inappropriate in the new digs.
