Good morning, you two! Have a good trip east, Andi. I noticed last night after work that daffodils seemed to be blooming practically everywhere I looked.
Heh, I had to turn on the AC in the car. Finally the sun is out and it’s in the 70s. I planted a little herb garden on the deck. Don’t want to plant anything in the yard because I might be moving…..if the real estate gods cooperate and let us sell this house.
I’ve been putting my great driving skills to work taking things to a thrift shop that once a week gives away furniture, clothes, shoes and toys to families that need them. Some lucky family got a gemstone globe that I gave the mister for christmas a few years back. Maybe they can pawn it for food or diapers…
Good morning Andi! Our “Hooterville” town marshal resigned at a special meeting last night. I smell a coup! I was not in attendance and have learned belatedly in life there are some things just not worth poking one’s nose into. I think Family Man’s philosophy is beginning to take hold.
So now I know what the lead story in next week’s Democrat is going to be. Can’t wait to read the letters to the editor — they’ve been so boring lately without any Mike Newton-inspired letter wars.
Ha! Ha! Mike is keeping them entertained over in Bloomington on the H-T editorial page. There are plenty of fundies there to torment and what a vitriolic bunch they are;-)
We don’t have the temps (though they are coming by Monday) but those daffodils up top are from here — about two weeks earlier than I have ever photographed any too. Freaky.
A bright sun shining here and mid-40s by afternoon.
But little use for us; the place will be rented out the next year and we have lots of chores to do.
Just enjoying the quiet here while everyone’s still asleep…I’ve already cleaned the kitchen up, started a grocery list, made coffee, put my tuition bill together to mail today (did I mention I’m officially heading back to finish that dang doctorate?), admired the lovely apron I won yesterday at the King Arthur Flour bread baking workshop, drank some more coffee…
Good morning, CG! What busy lives some people lead;-) My goal for today is to get all the thank-you notes written. I got to spend a little time outdoors yesterday after work, cleaning out the debris from last season’s flowers. Its a very peaceful chore for me, very different than my children databases at the regular job.
Sounds like you have a nice weekend ahead, then. I think raking out the leftover leaves from the fall is on our agenda this weekend too. And I’m feeling a need for some pansies in my flowerpots at the end of the front walk.
I’m ready for spring to start. I hope it warms up some this weekend, because it got downright cold Thursday and yesterday.
Having glanced at the incredible expanding recycle storage area in the carport, it appears that a trip to the nearby recycle center is in order as well.
Thanks, o. It’s a distance learning program for working professionals (think lectures on dvd, homework on the University’s eLearning site, and a few live meetings each semester), but it seems pretty well organized from what I’ve seen so far. Class starts in May, so we’ll see how it goes then.
The coolest thing about the apron is that it has my weight on it in big red letter: 100 lbs! 🙂
Re school: it was so much fun the first time, I figured I might as well do it over again. 🙂 Only this program doesn’t have such a ridiculous clinical commitment.
oops, sorry, I left for the day. I was out last night so I had to wait for it to show up on hulu.
I thought it was the most whedonesque episode we’ve had yet. Who was the guy that played the software mogul, do you know? He was so perfect with the Whedon dialog and his voice sounded so familiar that I kept thinking he’d been on one of Whedon’s other shows.
I hope I’m home next Friday so I can watch it in “real time”.
I went to imbdb and found his page — his name is Patton Oswalt and he has a huge set of credits but I’m guessing the one that made his voice sound familiar is that he was the voice of Remy in Ratatouille.
I’m guessing that I saw some of his 121 episodes on King of Queens in reruns. I never intentionally watch that show but I know I’ve seen it – it must have come on right before something else I wanted to watch.
No, of course not. Still Standing has the fat British guy (faking American accent) from The Full Monty and that brunette with the Jersey accent whose name escapes me right now.
Oh – an excursion to the Berkshires is always enjoyable. Even if the purpose this time is major clean up of the place.
Some flurries in the air now, this winter seems never to end. How is it further south?
I rolled over around 6:00 and slept until 9:30 for a change. Yum! Weatherwise, I predict the daffodils in our yard will open today. Its sunny, but just a bit nippy at this hour.
Good morning! Our daffodils aren;t blooming yet, so I had to borrow some of Andi’s for up top. 🙂
It looks like it;s going to be another warm day here today. I’m loving that.
but I guess I won’t miss it because I’m off to Cincy for the day.
See ya later.
Good morning, you two! Have a good trip east, Andi. I noticed last night after work that daffodils seemed to be blooming practically everywhere I looked.
We seem to be a bit behind here with our weather and daffodils. I guess it’ll happen soon, though.
Same here. We’ve got nothing.
Maybe we’ll get some blooming this weekend, although it’s gotten chillier here today as the day has gone on.

Is it on the market yet or are you painting etc?
Neither yet. Just de-cluttering at the moment. We’ve only been here five years…how can there be so much junk?
Will you be putting your writing skills to good use on Craig’s list – or just having a garage sale?

No big open skies at home.

I wondered where he’d gone too — guess he needed a bigger audience. 😉
Ugh!
Sleet is coming down.
Ugh and for the first day of spring. Bummer extraordinaire. It’s below freezing here but at least the sun is out.
And now it’s coming down heavily.
We’re headed for the Berkshires this afternoon – cold and clear forecast for the entire weekend.
Enjoy!
It’s snowing here! Ugh.
Blue skies shining above where I am. Weather in the 60’s. Daffodils blooming. 🙂
We don’t have the temps (though they are coming by Monday) but those daffodils up top are from here — about two weeks earlier than I have ever photographed any too. Freaky.
Good morning!
A chilly 15 this morning here in western MA.
I hope you’re well bundled up.
It was below freezing here but it’s heading toward the 50s so that was bearable.
A bright sun shining here and mid-40s by afternoon.
But little use for us; the place will be rented out the next year and we have lots of chores to do.
Good morning Andi & ask! Ack! Saturday chores;(
Sounds like a nice day…I hope you get to take a little break and enjoy some of the sunshine.
Well everybody needs to take breaks from chores need so I hope you do get to enjoy some of that sunshine.
And good morning CG and ID.
This week’s theme: Actions. Speak louder than words.
The diary is here.
ANybody have any exciting plans for today?

People rake leaves?
Around here that’s considered a crime against nature;-)
😛

Congrats on going back CG … That’s exciting!
Thanks, o. It’s a distance learning program for working professionals (think lectures on dvd, homework on the University’s eLearning site, and a few live meetings each semester), but it seems pretty well organized from what I’ve seen so far. Class starts in May, so we’ll see how it goes then.
I think we need a picture of the apron.
Congrats on the school decision.

ps, what did you think of Dollhouse last night?
oops, sorry, I left for the day. I was out last night so I had to wait for it to show up on hulu.

I never saw Ratatouille, so that’s now where I know it from. I’ll go look though.
I’ve seen him do stand up several times on Comedy Central.
I’m guessing that I saw some of his 121 episodes on King of Queens in reruns. I never intentionally watch that show but I know I’ve seen it – it must have come on right before something else I wanted to watch.
Probably I’m Still Standing….the other show with a fat, bumbling husband with an impossibly hot wife.
Is that the one with the blond woman who once was on Ally McBeal?
There is something deeply humorous about those shows – especially when the fat, bumbling husband has NOTHING special going for him.
Has there ever been a show with a fat bumbling wife who has an impossibly hot husband?
No, of course not. Still Standing has the fat British guy (faking American accent) from The Full Monty and that brunette with the Jersey accent whose name escapes me right now.
I missed that one.
oh darn.
Good morning!
Everyone sleeping in?
Good morning ask! How are you today?
Oh – an excursion to the Berkshires is always enjoyable. Even if the purpose this time is major clean up of the place.
Some flurries in the air now, this winter seems never to end. How is it further south?
It looks like it will be a nice day, not too cold. The Berkshires sound nice, even if just for cleaning.
I rolled over around 6:00 and slept until 9:30 for a change. Yum! Weatherwise, I predict the daffodils in our yard will open today. Its sunny, but just a bit nippy at this hour.
