Down to the last pup – Lilly/lily/Lillie (we haven’t decided how to spell her name yet).
Gar, now known as Garazi, the Basque word for “grace”, went to her new home in Queensland yesterday.
Although it was hard to say goodbye, it’s good to be down to a manageable number of critters again, and to be able to focus on Lily.
Any suggestions?
The prefix is “Euzkadi”, which is the kennel name of the father of the litter. The kennel takes its name an from a Basque region of the Pyrenees.
For example, Garazi’s owners are thinking of naming her “Euzkadi Gypsy Moon” (the “Moon” bit coming from Luna’s name).
The parents pedigree names are:
Impyrial American Expedition (Lewis)
Darmour Dream Maker Olenr (Luna)
A google search led me to the moon lily
How about Euzkadi Highlands Lily?
And the message is loud and clear — don’t nobody pick a bone with me.

That’s one heavy tail. I bet it’s great at clearing the coffee table.
And dusting the furniture.
Dusting – as in:
removing dust
or,
coating with fine particles?
What great shots! Spring at last, eh?
I never feel like it’s really spring until the dogwoods blossom but there are little green things sprouting up on the forest floor.
I’ve really got to get a new photo of Pablo, especially because he looks possessed in this one.
keres, will you be keeping Lilly/lily/Lillie?
Pablo is a great name for a terrapin.
Yep, Lilly is ours – much to Luna’s chagrin. I think Luna likes having a friend, but she’s gotten jealous of any attention we pay the pup and very purposefully mouths Lilly’s head and rolls her over just to make sure the kid knows where she stands in the pack hierarchy.
I’m sure that Lilly will find her niche eventually.
Pablo is actually an African sideneck. He’s quite the character at feeding time.
He’s quite the attractive critter, too. His personality really shines in that photo.
I was using the word “terrapin” in the British sense (which I learned from reading all those James Herriot books) – any freshwater turtle, as I was pretty sure of at least that much.
You’ll have to get a photo of his head pulled in and to the side, so everyone will know how the species got its name.
I wasn’t aware that terrapin was used in that fashion. Getting a photo of his head pulled in will be difficult, he doesn’t often do it these days. He’s become entirely too comfortable with us I’m afraid. 😉
And, he says, you forgot to take the photo from his best side.
Keres, your latest puppy pix are just wonderful. Just the thing for this grey, dank day in the northeast US.
I’m glad they could brighten up your day.
Absolutely!
I like the pic at the head of the cafe’ especially. I see such joy there.
I’m sorry I can’t see Hector, though. Browser issues.
Browser issues, or issues caused by an older operating system and what browsers it will support?
I use Mozilla as my browser, and I’m very happy with it.
You got it — an ancient Mac OS. I plan on upgrading to Mozilla as soon as I can upgrade the OS — which means finding the new OS on cd, not dvd.
Modern life is a trial, indeed.
