       I would tell little ricky to take a journey to Yorktown battle field and gander a LONG look at the plaque there,

       Which says;

       Ce monument est dédié aux soldats et marins du corps expéditionnaire français morts pour l’independance des Etats-Unis pendant la campagne de Yorktown.
       1781

       This monument is dedicated to the soldiers and sailors of the French expeditionary corps who died for the independance of the United States during the Yorktown campaign.

       The memorial includes the names of the some 600 Frenchmen who lost their lives in this campaign, including the Yorktown siege and the naval battle known as the Second Battle of the Virginia Capes.

       The location of the principal French Memorial at Yorktown is at the position known as ‘The French Trench’, which was the extreme left flank of the French army during the 1781 siege. It is where the French Regiment Touraine had constructed a field fortification opposite the British Royal Welsh Fusiliers Redoubt. Both positions are indicated on most maps of the battlefield. These positions are along the edge of the York River and just north of, and across highway 238 from, the present-day Virginia State ‘Yorktown Victory Center’.

       BTW if the French navy hadn’t defeated the British navy at the Battle of the Chesapeake

       Washington might not have been able to force the British to surrender.

       We owe the French for our very independence and wingnuts like little ricky seems to have forgotten that.

       Somebody should tell that wanker if lots of French citizens hadn’t volunteered to help a fledging army here we might just still be a British Colony, so our aiding France in WW1 and WW2 was just returning the favor.

   Mr Santorum- Its refreshing to find your opinions in the Philly area. I thought for sure it was not allowed. Despite the persecution you’ll face at least you’re not in prison for them! (yet) It is certainly sad that Obama’s literal and figurative bows to foreign governments speaks for less than half of the United State’s voters and yet we all get painted with the same brush throughout the world. As an aside, perhaps the papers are realizing that no amount of liberal repetition in the opinion pages will cause a stir anymore. It’s all so trite people don’t even give it a second glance. The only time they stop to look is when someone dares step out of line.

     Woodrow Wilson was a fascist, FDR was a socialist, Kennedy and Johnson lost Vietnam, Carter almost lost the Middle East, Clinton caused 9/11 and Obama is worse than all of them put together after just 80 days.

   someone shoudl let rick santorum know that if the french are expected to be eternally grateful for our help in WW2, expressed by never criticizing the USA, that the opposite is also true: we should never criticize the french because they saved OUR bacon in the revolution.

     Thank you. And Obama also mentioned this in that same speech – that France was our FIRST ally ever. The french people really struggled and sacrificed for US when they gave us aid in the revolutionary war. They really couldn’t afford to give as much as they did, but they gave it anyway.

   Somehow these patriots who use the genius meme: “France owes its freedoms to the sacrifices of Americans” tend to forget the small bit about the American Revolution.

   Maybe the U!!!S!!!A!!! can take back Eisenhower & Normandy, France can take back Lafayette & Yorktown, and we can call it even.
