We’re in the midst of an abundance of sogginess this afternoon. It arrived just in time to dampen the Friday-going-home-after-work trip and the arts & crafts fair in the street by our house.
I think its supposed to clear off tomorrow. Hope some of the nice gets out to your area before the weekend is over. I’m letting the grass grow a lot more before I mow these days. Last year, I only mowed 4 times all season. Saves energy and is very good for slacking;-)
We used to live out near Yellowwood, but it wasn’t all woodsy like your place. I had an old farm tractor and bush hog to mow the fields and once had an episode with some very angry yellow jackets that didn’t appreciate their nest being mowed over. Don’t miss it a bit.
A light spring meal. Actually I cheated and bought chicken salad from one of the stores that makes really good chicken salad. But I’m oven roasting asparagus and doing a salad – greens, dried cherries, toasted almond slivers, goat cheese and vinaigrette.
The weather radar is clear this morning and the prediction is for highs in the 60s today. Its going to be an arts weekend for us, with the street show practically in our front yard and a memorial gathering tonight for one of the older resident artists who died several weeks ago at 94.
That sounds like perfect weather for the arts show…cool and clear. It seems like it’s going to be warmer and muggier than I like today. I’ve got the beach house for the week, but I really don’t feel like going. I think I’d much rather go to the mountains.
I sent you email a couple a days ago to the address I’ve always used but it hasn’t been able to be delivered and the reason according to Gmail is either:
. The other domain doesn’t have up-to-date MX records or is otherwise misconfigured.
. The other domain is blacklisting or graylisting messages from Gmail.
. The other domain is experiencing temporary networking problems
Hmmm, I wouldn’t know an MX record if one bit me. I’ll send you a message you can reply to. I just dropped an old address I had set up through Network Solutions because it was up for renewal and I didn’t really need it anymore. Maybe that was the problem.
We have two buckets that came as premiums with our two 5000 gallon water tanks – to give us an up-close-and-personal look at what the tanks are made of. They are the only buckets that Luna has not destroyed. Not that she hasn’t tried.
So yes, the tough little bucket clearly got the better of the “Fluff Bucket” (yet another nickname for Lily).
How did that old cafe get so full? 🙂
Haven’t you noticed — when Family Man is around, we are much chattier. 🙂
Just about anyone can get in. There’s only a 2 drink minimum.
Here’s a happy story for everyone this morning: Link
People from outstate Missouri might tend toward the right wing but they are very hospitable. Glad it worked out for him.
Thanks for the nice story, CG!
This week’s theme is “Open up the dictionary at random, point & shoot.”. So point yourself right over here and come join the fun.
Also, nice story, CG.

I hope it clears up so people can enjoy the festival. It looks like you have quite a few vendors there.
After a nice sunny day, the clouds are rolling back in here. We’re racing to get the grass cut before we lose our chance. I think we’ll make it.

If you lived out here in the real “sticks”, you’d never have to mow. 🙂

Making dinner for one of my book clubs tonight. I really hate being in the kitchen.
What are you making? (I’m hungry but don’t feel like cooking anything)
A light spring meal. Actually I cheated and bought chicken salad from one of the stores that makes really good chicken salad. But I’m oven roasting asparagus and doing a salad – greens, dried cherries, toasted almond slivers, goat cheese and vinaigrette.
That sounds yummy.
I guess you’ll be watching the Dollhouse finale on hulu, then? I can’t wait to see it after last week’s episode.
Last week was great. I wish I could see this one in real time. I should try to tape it – but I always screw it up so I never count on it working.
I’m not sure I want to see Victor’s beautiful face all slashed this week though.
It’s raining
it’s pouring
the dogs are covered in mud
and keres it taking pictures of Luna and Lily/Lilly so the cafe can be adoring.
(yeah, I know that’s a little hard to sing)
Good morning all!

Going to the mountains is always good but as a second choice, you could consider the hills. 🙂
Both options sound equally delicious to me. Heads or tails?

BTW, the email wasn’t about anything important.

I just sent the email to the different address.
Got it – thanks!

Aw, thanks. I love the little one uncurling in the foreground.
Mrs. ID says thanks! We had a visit from IDtE and grandchildren yesterday, so today should be one filled with quiet & serenity;-)
Happy Mother’s Day, all you moms out there!
Yes, Happy Mother’s day to all the moms out there in Frog Land. 🙂
Yes! Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy.
you don’t need a pillow if you’ve got your mom
Your mom, maybe. My mom is bony. I’d rather have the pillow.
Nah, my mom is touch-phobic.
The above line comes from one of my favorite children’s songs Use a napkin (not your mom).
I had just filled this bucket a few minutes before.
I call it a TKO in the 12th wrong for the bucket.

I fought the bucket and the bucket won?
Think fast. Sometimes you only get one chance.
