It’s another misty humid morning here…ugh.  I hope it burns off and dries out before too long.

I was gonna say something about you getting all the rain that’s been here for the past 4 days but the radar says I’m wrong.

CabinGirl on May 16, 2009 at 8:16 am

We’re due for thunderstorms tonight, but I think just cloudy skies during the day.

Elizabeth Edwards was just on my teevee…I get the distinct impression from her answers to the interviewer that she expects her husband to be caught lying again…

If our forecast is any indication, you should be getting a lot of clear skies over the next several days.

I’m kind of sorry for her in a general way but I actually don’t much care.

Here’s hoping the sun arrives here today!

I don’t even really feel all that sorry for her, it’s more of just a mildly interested observation.  I think they should never have persisted with his presidential run knowing what they were hiding.

What are you and JIm up to today?

we’re supposed to clear up today after rain all night and be clear all week, low 80’s.  So hopefully no more coming your way or going toward CG  – for a while at least.

Good morning Andi, ID and CG,

We’re supposed to have rain all this w/e.  It’s dark and yucky here too.  So after all this rain and stuff, who’s ready for winter? 🙂

        • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on May 16, 2009 at 9:02 am

I would like a week of summer before we bring on the winter, thanks.  ðŸ™‚

          How are you today?

          • Family Man
Family Man on May 16, 2009 at 9:08 am

Oh summer is highly overrated. 😉

I’m tired and ready to go to sleep.  I finally got some sleep yesterday, but I’m so thrown off my schedule that I woke up at 11:30 pm last night, and I’ve been up ever since.  I figure I’ll make myself stay up until about 10:00 pm tonight and then go to sleep.  That should get me back on schedule.

          • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on May 16, 2009 at 9:15 am

I’m sorry your schedule is so mixed up; it’s so hard to get back to normal after that happens, but it sounds like your plan to stay up will work.

I think we’re going to see the Star Trek movie today (we were going to go to one of the local street festivals, but the weather is making that less appealing).  And I think real Mexican food is on the agenda, followed by an awesome chocolate peanut butter cake.  ðŸ™‚

Too bad we have to clean the house first.

Family Man on May 16, 2009 at 9:27 am

Sounds like you have a pretty good day ahead of you.  Even if it wasn’t a good day, ending it with an awesome chocolate peanut butter cake would be good enough for me. 🙂

Cleaning the house was on the agenda last night.  I didn’t get very far with it, but even a little is better than nothing.

Remember with the cake, we do accept care packages. :O)

            Hiya ID,

I like rain too.  It does make it good napping weather, but it also makes things perfect for not doing anything out in the yard. 😉

Yep recovered from the pond trip.  I was going to take some more pictures yesterday afternoon, but instead I was over at my sister’s house fixing their computer.

Here’s hoping you can get back on a decent sleep schedule soon. Mrs. ID has that difficulty too. Andi’s recycle bin photo over in the Foto Flog reminds me that I have a carport overflowing, so I guess I should begin loading the car for the trip. Have a slackerly day!

Always remember though, “slack when possible.”  ðŸ™‚

        • Second Nature
Second Nature on May 16, 2009 at 8:04 pm

Well, it’s salad made out of grilled romaine. 🙂

You cut a romaine heart in half lengthwise (keeping the end intact to hold it together) brush with olive oil and grill for about 3 or 4 minutes until it’s charred.  Then you can either serve it warm with lemon juice and some shaved parmesan cheese and some salt and pepper, or chill it and do the same.  I also like fresh tomatoes and pine nut or sunflower seeds with it, or kalamata olives and roasted red peppers.  Delish.

      What is the “R” for?

Do Neo and Lily remember they’re siblings?

Luna looks mature since she had puppies…like how I went from a young, energetic, glowing bundle of happiness to a milk-stained worry wort overnight.

      • keres
keres on May 17, 2009 at 4:51 pm

The “R” is for royal.  We have a queen doncha know?

Australia is still a member of the British Commonwealth, so technically Queen Elizabeth is our head of state.  Although England has no say in Australia’s governance.  I find it a bit confusing myself.

      Here squirrel, here squirrel.

Right now (8pm) it’s big juicy moths that have the dogs’ attention.  We seem to have a different species at the window nearly every night.  Tonight’s is ash colored with large dark grey patches on the underside of the wings.  Last night’s moth was a doozie – one of the many pinkish-orange species, with neon pink eyes.

      • AndiF
AndiF on May 18, 2009 at 6:42 am

Neon pink eyes? That would probably freak me out; our moths are definitely much more prosaic.

        • keres
keres on May 18, 2009 at 6:55 am

We seem to have a large number of moths that favor pinkish colorations – including the eyes.  The bigger ones, like the one last night, are about two inches stem to stern, and fairly plump.  I spotted it because I kept hearing a thunk in the kitchen.  I thought it was Hec until I realized he was under the table.  Then, I thought it was a mouse.  It was only when I went into the kitchen that I realized it was a large moth repeatedly smacking into the window.

Right now I’ve got a very tattered Gum Emerald moth (green colored, of course) to look at.

Definitely from the “schlock and awe” school of action films.  Too many close up of men’s scruffy two-days growth and/or pores.  And editing that sometimes hurt my eyes.  But otherwise entertaining enough.

Of course, big nerd that I am I couldn’t help but think during The Big Scene that the Event Horizon would be much further out from a Singularity.
