We got thick fog and drizzle, with occasional bursts of rain. Oh, and very large mud puppies.
I’m trying an experiment. If I don’t let the dogs in the house when it rains, will they start using the other forms of shelter available in their yard?
Damn that was so funny. I was going to say what Jim is about to say but I asked him before I typed so when you read what he says that what I was going to say.
lol. I wasn’t going to mention your spectacular run on. After all, I’m hardly one to talk. If anything, I’m probably a bit free with the commas – thus sounding like a William Shatner recital.
The thing that gets me is that it all reads just fine to me. I just read the corrections in. Maybe by the time I hit 80, I’ll have learned the right way to proofread.
Yup, enough already!
Young asklet should have had exams all week, but Wednesday night we were alerted to school closing due to swine flue. The kids don’t seem to mind…
They’ll have to make it up somehow.
swimmer is having some lazy days in Southampton with old high school friends, they all seem to have trouble finding work this summer. She had two opportunities, but neither fit with her summer schedule. But yesterday, she got an au-pair offer from Italy – teach a 9 yo boy English. We’re trying to work out the details now.
I keep trying to remind myself that the reward for all this rain will come in the form of a large pickup at the CSA sometime soon. I’m ready for some squash and spinach and carrots and bok choy and…
Uh oh, can’t seem to get to Roborater. I hope Omir paid his hosting fees for moosegrins. Omir, if you need a little help, I know some frogs you can ask;-)
Good morning ask, CabinGirl & Andi! Its a lovely morning here! We’re heading out to Lowe’s later to pick out wood flooring for Mrs. ID’s long-awaited office beautification project.
And on that happy note, I say “hi” and “bye” — as soon as we wake up, have some coffee, and pack the car, we’re off to the Smokies. We’ll have internet so ….
Have a wonderful time! I used to go camping/fishing in western VA when I was stationed at Virginia Beach, VA. Some of the Civil War battlefields are a nice side trip if you have time. I remember the one at Richmond had a very distinct presence about it when I visited just at dusk.
Hi CabinGirl! We’re heading up to Carmel by the north side for a college graduation and graduate’s dad retirement party. I’m working on a consulting job for dad (my b-i-l) so he won’t have to hang around the house all day doing husbandly craft projects. He was with the Indiana Dept. of Ed for 39 years, so there’s been a bit of shock to the system for him. I’ll be passing along some of Family Man’s personal philosophy as well;-)
I guess I phrased that wrong. One of my cousins who usually stays with me when she is in St. Louis. Someone did stay with me. I didn’t kill her. Or her dog.
The cake was delish. It was yellow cake. One tier was three layers with chocolate cream between the layers. The other tier was three layers with raspberry between the layers. It was quite the conversation piece as people gathered around it to read the words on it and reminisce.
The weather gods aren’t giving us great forecasts — there’s a possibility of srain everyday, though never over 50%. But it’s the Smokies so we just assume that at some point we are going to get wet.
I went to the Smokies about twenty years ago. I’m afraid I couldn’t get too worked up about the “view” from the lookout because of the socked-in conditions.
I thought the old one needed some freshening up…Floral decorations courtesy of IndianaDem!
Does anyone else think it’s cold out today?
It’s about 70 here but yesterday it was only in the sixties and quite chilly. But at least it’s sunny and not rainy today.
I’m looking forward to my yoga class just because it will warm me up-my fingers are freezing!
It’s supposed to rain here all day tomorrow too. Here’s hoping we get some clear weather this weekend…maybe your weather can come this way.
I’ll try to direct it to you. With my weather goddess powers. 🙂
Thanks…I’m sure the weather will listen to you!
Ooooh pretty.
We needed something to brighten up around here.
Congrats on the end of school!
Yep it was cold out today — the wind was really whipping around here too, making it feel even colder. But the sun was out so it felt good.
We got thick fog and drizzle, with occasional bursts of rain. Oh, and very large mud puppies.
I’m trying an experiment. If I don’t let the dogs in the house when it rains, will they start using the other forms of shelter available in their yard?
My guess — they will stand at the door, looking miserable and wet.
Bingo! Although they eventually get bored and go dig holes in the mud.
I’ve got errands to run, so I’ll be spared the all the drama for a few hours.
But how much of the yard will be cratered by the time you get back?
That’s a really rare early morning photo. I’m a sleeper inner any chance I get.
My latest favorite YouTube. Warning, keep fluids away from your mouth while viewing.
Damn that was so funny. I was going to say what Jim is about to say but I asked him before I typed so when you read what he says that what I was going to say.
in grammatically correct sentences.
Just be glad your not dyslexic and have to proof read professionally.
Fortunately, like most it’s only myself that I can’t proof for errors. As you say, I know what I meant to write and I just read it that way.
That is the best music video I’ve ever seen. It was like MTVST3k. All we needed were the silhouettes of Tom Servo, Gypsy, Crow T. Robot.
Lol. It was such a creepy/inappropriate video to start with. I mean, I like Bonnie, but what the hell were they thinking? Maybe it’s an English thing.
when music videos started out?
How much we could’ve been spared.
But then we might have missed hysterically funny stuff like this.
The satirist were there, but alas YouTube was not.
Good morning, Andi!
All rain, all the time here.
Same here. I’m getting more than a little tired of it, how about you?
The grass seems to like it, tho’…
Yup, enough already!
Young asklet should have had exams all week, but Wednesday night we were alerted to school closing due to swine flue. The kids don’t seem to mind…
A reprieve from exams? But doesn’t that mean the school year just drags on a little longer? CBtY is ready to be done.
What is swimmer up to this summer?
They’ll have to make it up somehow.
swimmer is having some lazy days in Southampton with old high school friends, they all seem to have trouble finding work this summer. She had two opportunities, but neither fit with her summer schedule. But yesterday, she got an au-pair offer from Italy – teach a 9 yo boy English. We’re trying to work out the details now.
I’m pretty glad it’s sunny here. Last year at this time we were just starting to get the rains that would bring on a 500 year flood.
In the lows 70s and sunny here so I hope it is moving your way.
The forecast looks pretty good, but can you speed up the delivery?
I’m heading out to the woods in just a few — I’ll see if I can commune with the weather gods.
Have a good one.
My best friend’s daughter is graduating from high school next week. What’s an appropriate gift these days?
Jim, who does a lot of these with former students, always goes with that fine, fine old reliable — money.
Guesstimate on the amount?
My standard is $50
Sounds reasonable.
We have a range of $25 to $100, the low end for not-so-close friends and family at the upper.
Good morning all. Rainy here again, but the vegetables are now about as far along as they would be weeks from now.
I keep trying to remind myself that the reward for all this rain will come in the form of a large pickup at the CSA sometime soon. I’m ready for some squash and spinach and carrots and bok choy and…
Hope you stay dry today, b2.
Uh oh, can’t seem to get to Roborater. I hope Omir paid his hosting fees for moosegrins. Omir, if you need a little help, I know some frogs you can ask;-)
Missin’ my fournicator. Willing to help too.
I’ll make it unanimous for Brown County. I miss the roborater (and it’s little frog too).
It’s back!
Great news! Thank you Omir!
Hmmm ..
Are you suggesting that, just as we think we’re going to get our heads above water for a few days, the next wave is already coming? 🙂
Speaking of all that rain…the happy enchilada song!
I like this map for the weekend – we’re in the dry zone. It’s my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebration this weekend so dry will be good.
We had a wonderful celebration for my grandparents’ 50th with the whole family in Stoneybrook, LI, many years ago. Hope yours is just as memorable.
Wow, 50 years? I hope you all have a wonderful time!
We’re heading off to the Smoky Mountains on Sunday — think we could keep that dry space in the middle carved out for a week?
Ooh, Smoky mountains. Will there be pictures during the week?
My dad used to live in Cherokee, NC. It was really pretty there.
Well we should have internet access so if it doesn’t rain the whole time, there may be some pictures.
We’re doing thhe NC side this time — we’ve always done the Tennessee side before and we decided we needed to be more open-minded.
That is, if I get my butt in gear and get all the stuff done I need to.
Later.
Good morning, all!
Finally blue skies this morning after a dreary week.
And it’s weekend!
Yay for good weather. It’s going to be dry here too but hot. Yuck on hot.
Same here! I can’t wait to get outside.
Yesterday afternoon, we were feeling so cramped up indoors that we went over to the mall just to do a couple of laps around the place and stretch out.
Good morning ask, CabinGirl & Andi! Its a lovely morning here! We’re heading out to Lowe’s later to pick out wood flooring for Mrs. ID’s long-awaited office beautification project.
Sounds fun! I’m trying to get someone to trot over to the farm with me to pick strawberries.
Maybe if I promise them pie.
And on that happy note, I say “hi” and “bye” — as soon as we wake up, have some coffee, and pack the car, we’re off to the Smokies. We’ll have internet so ….
Later.
Hope you have a great trip. How long are you gone for?
Have a wondefrul trip! See you when you check back in!
Bye! Drive safely!
Have a wonderful time! I used to go camping/fishing in western VA when I was stationed at Virginia Beach, VA. Some of the Civil War battlefields are a nice side trip if you have time. I remember the one at Richmond had a very distinct presence about it when I visited just at dusk.
Have a good time and be safe.
Due to my late sleeping habit, I see I’ve missed Andi and Jim. Good morning everyone else!
Hi, ID! I’m busy working on my drug information assignment for school, due to be submitted by 11:59 pm tonight…so I’m still here.
What are you up to today? Any fried biscuits in your future? 😉
I think I’m heading out for some yoga and a little hang time by the creek early this afternoon.
I’ll be passing along some of Family Man’s personal philosophy as well;-)
BTW, good luck with the drug info assignment. Bummer to have to do it on a weekend
CG what ID said. 😉
Thanks to both of you. I finished it and submitted it already. lad that’s over with.
Too bad I have to get cracking on the next one already.
Hiya ID,
Believe it or not, when I first retired it was a bit of a shock to me too. I really missed going into work every day.
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is nothing. However, over time I learned to become one with slackdom. 🙂
I’m really looking forward to at least semi-retirement in about a year and a half. It may be a tough job, but I know I’m up to it!
Well, big anniversary weekend is over and I survived without killing either of my sisters or anyone staying with me. Or my parents. I’m’ pooped.
Time to watch the rest of the Tonies.
Wow, kudos to you on no one staying with you.
How was the cake?
I guess I phrased that wrong. One of my cousins who usually stays with me when she is in St. Louis. Someone did stay with me. I didn’t kill her. Or her dog.
The cake was delish. It was yellow cake. One tier was three layers with chocolate cream between the layers. The other tier was three layers with raspberry between the layers. It was quite the conversation piece as people gathered around it to read the words on it and reminisce.
Mmmmmmm! The cake sounds almost as good as fried biscuits;-)
which had a very pretty hello to us. Just a drive-by this morning. See y’all later.

One of the nicer sort of “drive byes”.
I see the clouds parted just in time for a scenic photo. Here’s hoping the Weather Goddess continues to smile upon your hiking outings.
The weather gods aren’t giving us great forecasts — there’s a possibility of srain everyday, though never over 50%. But it’s the Smokies so we just assume that at some point we are going to get wet.

Drive by hi, but no nice photos to go along with it. 😉
Since the time of your post indicates you were, no doubt, under the watchful eye of your evil overlords, you are forgiven.
Thanks for that. 😉
