“I want my colleagues and the American public to know that measured against the information I have been able to gain access to, the story line we have been led to believe–the story line about waterboarding we have been sold–is false in every one of its dimensions.”
Same as pretty much everything else from the Bush administration.

The Storyline We Have Been Told About Torture Is False In Every Dimension! Sen Whitehouse – Part 3
Previous Part 1 – Part 2
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
OK, so what’s he gonna do about it? I think in a passive consumerist society we may have discredited the whole truth-making-us-free thing.
I have a good feeling about Whitehouse. He’s a former District Attorney and a former US Attorney. He’s part of the Select Committee on Intelligence that is doing an investigation of the torture program. Every time he has spoken and appeared on the Rachel Madddow show he has been very tough. I think he is pushing back on the Cheney family lies within the limits of what he can reveal at this point in his role as a member of the committee. He appears to be furious by what he is finding out.
Overall, he has been real good. Early on, there was a vote or two that made me wonder but he’s become a real hound for the rule of law and we should all be appreciative of it.
It would be nice for the good Senator to take a jaunt down to the Attoorney General’s office and demand an investigation. Otherwise, saying what we already know doesn’t move the accountability ball one inch.
Whitehouse does not grandstand. On Thursday night on Rachel Maddow he talked about how you build a case. I believe that since the Select Committee has the documents, they are what will be used to build the case that will force the AG to investigate.
