The Guardian has a timeline of the chaos going on in Tehran. There has been at least one suicide bombing, lots of teargas, lots of beatings, and some rumored firing on crowds. I’ve been off-line and am just catching up. If you have any good links or video, post it in the thread. If you need help with embedding video, just ask.

also, [there and elsewhere] speculation that the “bombing” was a Reichstag type thing
Khamenei pretty much telegraphed this in his speech yesterday.
One of your links yesterday said that Kamenei weeping at the end of the sermon was a signal to security forces. He did the same think before the student crackdown in 1999. What a cowardly and sadistic slimeball.
Its time for Obama to speak out forcefully (not threaten) against the violence. These were 99% peaceful protests that are turning into a bloodbath.
Obama should say nothing! the Iran regime is already blaming the demonstrations on usa (and others)
Warning graphic violence.
What’s your source on the suicide bombing? The only such incident I have heard about is the purported attack against Khomeini’s mausoleum. A number of reports have written that off as government propaganda, as well as a maneuver to prevent Mousavi from taking refuge there, as he said in days past that he might if the government forcefully prevented marches.
that’s the only source.
People are reporting that the State TV say that there isn’t much damage because the bomber detonated the explosives outside. Looking more transparent than ever.
God, watched a girl die on Facebook. I don’t know how to help.

TEHRAN, June 20 (UPI) — Riot police wielding wooden batons, tear gas and water cannons battled protesters in central Tehran Saturday, witnesses said.
Gas filled the main street linking Tehran’s two central squares, with a crowd of about 4,000 to 5,000 protesters near one of them engaging in fierce battles with squadrons of militiamen on motorcycles and on foot, witnesses told The New York Times.
In some cases, the protesters fell back but others fought, hurling stones and setting some of the militia motorcycles on fire, the U.S. newspaper said.
Observers said the Iranian capital was filled with hundreds of thousands of people who had come to denounce the results of the nation’s presidential elections …
