Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) is on my teevee saying that “there is literally no debate that cap and trade will cost millions of American jobs.” Is it wrong for me to want to punch him in the face?

There may be a right to bear arms, but is there a right to bare knuckle boxing? Especially if the recipient of a blow is not in a boxing ring? I don’t know how lethal your fists are, but it’s probably safer not to make remarks that could be interpreted as a threat. (Sure, Ann Coulter can get away with threatening Supreme Court justices, but right-wingers get away with anything).

I love how global warming is a hoax perpetrated by a vast scientific conspiracy, but the true costs of cap-and-trade will be UNTOLD TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS YEARLY and we must listen to the hard numbers.
He is right though: there’s no debate about what he’s saying. Everybody knows it’s bullshit.
You could consult the Bible for guidelines – if you’re looking for citations Mark Sanford might be able to recommend some – or Ensign or Coburn or someone else from that Bible study group.
It will cost jobs (perhaps not as many as Bush’s depression) which we can hope will be replaced by solar power/recycling/and such like
