I’ll repeat the prediction I’ve been making for a while:
By the end of the year, Obama will sign health care legislation with what may be plausibly be described as a “robust public option.”
Perhaps more interestingly, I predict that such legislation will NOT stop health care from being a major source of debate for the foreseeable future. Whatever happens this year will be subject to tinkering in the following years. The health care debates will remain one of the top handful of issues through this presidency at least.
i agree….i think we are going to get something worthy.
phillies…not this year.
eagles….ummmm no.
sestak yes
republicans are going to run women every chance they get in every race possible. and we are gonna see some of the ugliest politics possible.
rendell may be the governor with the powerful in her own right wife who used the prostitute.
adutery will still be against the law in south carolina and nobody will care but god forbid some woman gets paid for a blowjob and off to jail she goes.

Unless the Obama administration applies money pressure on Israel, Netanyahu won’t budge. Time is of the essence to continue settlement building with natural growth, doubling settlers every 10 years.
Haaretz op-ed thinks the new Israeli ambassador to the U.S., Michael Oren, is the best Netanyahu can offer. By his own words earkier this year at the Cleveland Hillel Foundation, he is just another Likud right-winger.
Delay of the confirmation vote means more time for right-wing groups to fundraise. Wingnut groups were hoping to use Obama’s first SC nominee to hoover up money from the rubes on their side of the aisle. More time is more time for hoovering.
The Democrats would be kind of dumb to let this go over a recess and let the GOPers make more money and turn up the demonization of the woman. Once the vote is cast the short-term political maneuvering of the GOP will end and they’ll move onto a new shiny object to try to beat up Obama with. Of course I rarely bet against Democrats in Congress doing something dumb, so it’s possible that Reid et al will let the Senate go into recess without a confirmation vote on Sotomayor. Not smart, but possible.
I once rode in a 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire. God, It was awesome! All the way to 40mph the tires were screaming and smoking. I was pressed back into the luxurious soft seat and couldn’t breath for the G forces. 4400 pounds of steel and chrome. 394 cubic inches with special cam. Big gears, big axle, big frame. Truly a rocket V-8. You may not remember it. it was your father’s Oldsmobile, not that cheap little piece of crap that soulless GM bean counters called the Oldsmobile before they gave the brand a mercy killing.
I remember them well, though I never rode in one. I was however given a ride in a brand new 1967 Olds 442 on an empty stretch of freeway. The speedo was at 120 and we were just cruzin! I remember with a smile!
I gave up making predictions a long time ago. But…the Mogambo Guru sez “We’re all freakin’ doomed.” If you pay too much attention what’s going on around you, that’s probably as likely as not.
>>>…anyone who wants to engage in international commerce will be fluent in Mandarin and Sanskrit.
umm… no one in India speaks Sanskrit. It’s been dead for MANY years. Breaking – in Rome they don’t speak Latin any more either.
Of the many languages of India, Hindi and Bengali are the most common. But everyone educated learns English — partly to avoid having to learn all those other Indian languages.
Mandarin, maybe. I think the era of building everything in China will be over in less than 40 years as the cost of oil and therefore shipping continues to rise.
Yup.

may turn out to be a quite a bit more fragile than what you’re contemplating.
l wouldn’t be counting chickens just yet.

We’ll have at least another week added to the delay in confirming Scary Sonia to the Supreme Court. I predict more.
It could take years to find evidence of a meltdown, or to provoke one.
why? it would only prolong the inevitable.
graham came out as an aye today, joining collins, snowe, martinez, and lugar.
all another delay will do is give other RATs the opportunity to jump ship. the vote happens next week.

This is one of the easiest predictions: US wrestles with problem of closing Guantanamo and some detainess will look at permanent residence in the United States of America. Until death do us part.

I predict that Obama will give us our ponies by the end of September. I’m gonna name mine “Starfire!”

…abortion laws and practices will not have substantively changed.
…Israel will still hold the deed to the West Bank and Gaza Strip and that will still be unacceptable to a large swath of America and Europe.
…Barrack Obama will be remembered as one of the greatest presidents in American history.
…George W. Bush will own the basement.
…we’ll still be trying to return to the moon.
