Sibel Edmonds deposed in lawsuit. I know this is scary territory for Booman, and I read it with a grain of salt. While the media is mudwrestling over the phony town hall meetings they will avoid this story upon pain of being called “conspiracy theorists”. Still, fascinating info on Turkey and who they’re bribing and blackmailing in Congress.
From Edmonds, the Brewster Jennings operation was dismantled in 2001, making all the hoo-ha over Valerie Plame’s exposure that made her a sympathetic character to the Left a rather insignificant event in espionage and anti-terror history. Which would put Plame along with Steinem and Larry Johnson as “former” CIA people publicly promoting Hillary Clinton last year.
Clinton’s photo ops with the generals and her cozying up to McCain in the primaries as well as her warlike hoots over Iran would certainly paint her as in consonance with the intelligence sector’s goals. If that made Clinton the CIA’s Democratic hope in last year’s election cycle and she lost, then good that she lost.
However, Clinton’s appointment by Obama to run the State Department seems almost a surrender of foreign policy to these same interests, like Geithner and the others are a surrender of economic policy to the same ol’ Boodle Boys. Just saying.
Lots more to dig through in the reports from the deposition.
I don’t know about you guys, but watching the news over the last three days, I am finding it extremely difficult to remain optimistic about meaningful health care reform. Between the greed of the medical industry, the ease with which they can apparently purchase senators, and the weakness and lack of engagement shown by the president, I fail to see how any significant change is going to happen here.

very interesting Ezra Klein interview with Lindsey Graham on health care politics.
