I hear that the Phillies-Rockies game has been snowed-out. Football players don’t let a little snow dissuade them.

well, more cold than snow down there…25ºF, wind chill 16ºF. the boys of summer aren’t used to it.
the broncs, on the other hand, got to practice in it for the past couple days getting ready for the Pats.
The 1961 World Series ENDED on October 9th. This year the last game is scheduled for November 5th. If the Rockies make it to the series they may not finish until June.
why I don’t watch baseball…..meh
I used to love those old Bears games, it was so cold the linemen were steamin’ and the defense was smokin’.
That says nothing about the players and lots about the balls.
Footballs aren’t white. They show up in snow. Plus in football players who do not normally handle the ball can wear gloves.
Nevertheless, being out of my usual haunts, I’ll stir stuff up.
In baseball, every player in the field must be ready to handle the ball on every play. It’s called being all-around athletes.
Plus they don’t get to sit at the heater until the half-inning is over.
Football players are coddled hot-house flowers in comparison.
Nevertheless, it is true MLB has gotten greed(y)(ier) and made the season too darn long.
Reposting, since I put this in the wrong diary
We live up in the mountains nearly 3 hrs away from Denver, and it was sunny, relatively warm and only a bit breezy today. Actually, from what I understand, the mts interrupt the flow of arctic air that has no impediments along the Front Range. So, even though we more than 2k ft higher than Denver, we often have milder weather. Strange, isn’t it?
