Okay, we had an unfortunate glitch there. I’m not sure exactly what happened but our transaction log got corrupted and it took a bit of tinkering on Andy’s part to fix it. Colman, from European Tribune, was also a great help. I was doing an archive search at the exact moment we got hit by a link from Duncan. The server can handle Atriotic traffic spikes, but I think the combination of the two things at once probably caused the problem. Anyway, thanks to Andy and Colman for getting us back up and running. Now, what were we talking about?

Phew! It wasn’t me!!!
While you’re at fixing; check the recent list – a bit too many spam diaries, some by users that should be banned for repeatedly doing so…
just realized I have a smite button, working my way through the list.
Thanks. I got most of them.
since you’re cleaning up a mess already, how about one of the admins purging the scam diaries. there’s currently a baker’s dozen + pushing much more deserving one’s down the list.
just sayin’

Great minds etc, etc
I suppose you’ve noticed the latest infestation of commercial spam diaries? Could that be related? I still can’t figure out how they bypass the registration/verification process, but it seems like they’re doing it by direct attack, not manually registering.
Glad you’re back.
*What* link from Duncan? No can find.

@Eschaton.

I’m well aware who "Duncan" is and the power of his blog. I’m asking where the link on his site to this one is. Because I could not find it.
It’s right there on his front page, but not as an active link (maybe he pulled the active link when/if he found out BT was down).
