So, I hate the new draft. It’s always been on Saturday and Sunday. Now it’s starting on Thursday night at 8pm. It’ll be 12:30 at night before the first round is over. I’m not one of those draft freaks who watches the whole thing. But after a quarter century of airing it on the weekend, people have gotten used to having Draft barbeques and otherwise getting together to watch. Now they blowing that up and forcing people to choose between watching the Draft and watching playoff hockey and basketball. If you’re a sportsfan, it’s obnoxious.
In any case, who do want to see your team draft? As a Giants fan, I want to see them pick Inside Linebacker Rolando McClain from Alabama. If he’s gone, I’d like to see them select Offensive Tackle Bruce Campbell from Maryland.
Oh my! As a progressive, I would have thought you’d have prioritized Earth Day over Draft Day! Looks like my priorities are out of sync, eh? š
well when I lived there, LA had two teams. Now, nada.
Actually for me it is easy. I hate football, and love the hockey playoffs.
The Caps are in Montreal right now, and someone asked how many reporters (I believe Post) went up there. Apparently the answer was 2. But they managed to send 8 people out to effing Redskins training camp. That’s almost as bad as Nascar televising practice…
I want teams – all of them – to draft players who don’t rape or assault women. It wouldn’t seem like too much to ask, but invariably for a few teams it will be.
I’m with you on that.
I Agree with both of you. It appears Date Rape(r) only gets a 6 game suspension with 2 game early return for good behavior.
as a Raiders fan I just don’t want to see them do anything moronic again. We need O-line desperately but so does everyone else usually.
any other old stoners here who remember Freak Bros comix? “Fat Freddy, go score us some weed. And don’t get burned!”. Of course he always got burned. That’s how life is with old weird senile Al.
you got the player I wanted. You’ll be very pleased.
Actually, they got both the players you wanted.
As a Cowboys fan, who is glad the Giants spent the offseason at home, I’m glad we took Dez Bryant.
He could terrorize the division for years to come.
I’m going to try and not hold your Giants fandom against you BooMan. I like this blog too much. But I will say I’m going to hafto stay away from this blog on Sundays. It’s too tempting to say something. š
But Antrelle Rolle was your first round pick. I’d take him over Rolando. He’s going to have way more impact than McClain could ever have. He’s a good player.
Well, I’m shocked that the Giants broke character and drafted Jason Pierre-Paul. He’s only started 7 division one games, but he can do this.
I’m a little surprised he was still around, but the number of games he started in D1 isn’t that big a deal. NFL teams are looking for physical elements and dedication first and foremost. Flacco didn’t play D1, and he’s been alright for the Ravens.
I’m absolutely stunned Tebow went before Colt McCoy or Jimmy Clausen, even though I’m not terribly impressed by any of them. I think Denver is going to wind up regretting that, and someone may want to put Brady Quinn on suicide watch.
Miami’s pick also made no sense to me. They needed a true nose tackle and instead grabbed a decent tackle better placed in a 4-3, I think. I would’ve taken Kindle or Hughes at OLB in the first, or maybe a safety, and then Terrence Cody in the second (whom I’ve been fairly impressed by as far as his talent and work ethic go).
But I’m not an NFL coach, and maybe that’s why.
Not a sports fan. I don’t even really watch the Super Bowl. The only sports I used to ever watch intently and know a lot of players was hockey, but that was years ago. It was also before the strike. After the strike I stopped caring.
So yeah, I don’t watch any sports. I play a lot of sports, and I like that. I just don’t understand watching…except for college football, and that’s only because I go to a school where you can like football, or you can be outcast as a huge loser who shouldn’t be here. Haha.
I’ll prolly watch the World Cup at times.
