(Nation.pk) – Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s 12-year old daughter Maryam mysteriously shows up at her grandmother’s home after being missing for seven years.
The Government has formally declared 12 years old Maryam as daughter of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui after proved by DNA Test and the girl handed over to the family of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqui visited the Interior Ministry with 12 years old Maryam on Saturday and held a meeting with Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
Talking to media after holding the meeting, the Interior Minister said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani wanted to make the announcement himself but he asked him to announce this.
Rehman Malik said that the DNA Report has proved that 12 years old Maryam is daughter of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, adding the girl only speak English.
ISLAMABAD (DawnNews.pk) – Reports suggest that the leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Hakimullah Mehsud has a hand behind the failed Times Square bomb plot in New York of arrested Faisal Shehzad.
This has been revealed by a letter which Hakimullah wrote to the sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, Dr. Fouzia nearly two months back.
According to a copy of the letter received exclusively by DawnNews, Hakimullah Mehsud threatened a memorable response against the United States.
The summary of the letter states that Hakimullah Mehsud declared the sister of incarcerated Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, Dr Fouzia as her own sister and assured her of every cooperation.
Threatening the US, he announced his intention to teach the United States a lesson.
Aafia Siddiqui (born March 2, 1972, in Karachi, Pakistan) is a Pakistani Muslim neuroscientist, accused of being an al-Qaeda member. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) alumna and Brandeis University Ph.D., and mother of three, she had disappeared in March 2003. Her disappearance followed the arrest of Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, alleged chief planner of the September 11 attacks and the uncle of her second husband. In 2004, witnesses in a UN war-crimes-tribunal meeting held in Serria Leone identified her as an al-Qaeda member. The charges against her stem solely from the shooting incident itself, not from any alleged act of terrorism, nor from conspiring with or giving comfort to terrorists.
According to the FBI, she resurfaced when she was arrested July 17, 2008, by the Afghan National Police. They report that a police search of her handbag after the arrest produced a number of documents written in Urdu and English describing the creation of explosives, chemical weapons, Ebola, dirty bombs, and radiological agents (which discussed mortality rates of certain of the weapons), and handwritten notes referring to a “mass casualty attack”.
HAYATABAD, Pakistan (DawnNews.pk) – Kifyatullah Khan, a relative of New York’s Times Square bombing suspect Faisal Shahzad, talks to local media in front of the house owned by Shahzad’s family in Peshawar’s locality of Hayatabad in Pakistan. Authorities say a suspect detained in the US in the failed bombing, Faisal Shahzad, came from a wealthy family in northwest Pakistan.
Villagers of Mohib Banda in Pabbi, Nowshera, said that members of Shahzad’s family believed he had been implicated in a false case. “They are a well-respected family. They are apolitical,” a family friend said.
“I know Shahzad’s family very well. They are highly respected in the entire village and adjoining areas,” said Advocate Kifayatullah Khan, a former member of the provincial bar council.
He said the family believed that Shahzad had been framed. “The entire family is highly educated and enlightened. The villagers don’t believe that Shahzad could act in such a manner,” he said.
Advocate Kifayatullah said that although the family had agricultural land and property in the village, they did not live there. He said that Mr Bahr-ul-Haq had been looking after the land since his retirement.
Shahzad married a woman from Mardan. His mother is from Charsadda and elder brother is an engineer currently living in Canada.
Officials said that Shahzad had been using three passports — two of them Pakistani — since 2003. He left for the US via Dubai by an Emirate Airlines flight from Benazir International Airport in Islamabad in the first week of February.

(Yeshiva World) – In the end, it was secret Army intelligence planes that did Times Square terror suspect Faisal Shahzad in. Armed with his cell phone number, they circled the skies over the New York area, intercepting a call to Emirates Airlines reservations, before scrambling to catch him at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
There were many developments in the fast-paced investigation, but sources told CBS 2 how the operation went down. Spooked by reports that authorities were looking for a Pakistani-American, Shahzad rushed out of his Bridgeport, Conn. Home and headed for the airport. He made the reservations on the way, paying cash for his ticket.
Agents raiding his Bridgeport home found components for the bomb device, including firecrackers and the boxes for the alarm clocks. They also reportedly found a hand-drawn map of potential targets, including the 4, 5, and 6 trains and the Staten Island ferry. There was also evidence of his ties to Pakistan, including a Karachi ID and residency papers.
Pakistan officials have reportedly made arrests in connection with the case. One of the suspects, Tausif Ahmed, is believed to have traveled to American two months ago to meet with Shahzad.

(NY Post) – US drone attacks have been incredibly successful in the war on terrorists in Pakistan, killing more than 300 people, including several high-ranking Taliban leaders.
The unmanned weapons, launched from secret bases and guided by remote control, strike at their targets with GPS and laser-guided bombs from as high as 2,000 feet.
The killing that most infuriated Faisal Shahzad, who was arrested for attempting to detonate a car bomb in Times Square, was that of Pakistan’s Taliban chief, Baitullah Mehsud. He was killed in August.
Mehsud, his wife and his wife’s parents were among 12 people blown up by a missile fired by a drone in the lawless South Waziristan region. It took weeks before Mehsud’s body could be recovered and his death confirmed.

The Connecticut man charged yesterday with the botched Times Square car bombing confessed to trying to slaughter innocent people in retaliation for US drone attacks that wiped out the leadership of his beloved Taliban.
Admitted terrorist Faisal Shahzad — who copped to training in explosives in the past year with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, the leading extremist Islamic group in his native Pakistan — said he was driven to evil by the slew of deaths among leaders of the terror group, law-enforcement sources revealed yesterday.
His training came in a tribal area where American drone aircraft have pummeled members of the Pakistan Taliban and al Qaeda in the past year. Shahzad’s village in KPkhwa shocked.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Qureshi said, “This is a blowback. This is a reaction. This is retaliation. And you could expect that,” according to CBS News.

No, Shaszad was not depressed about money. He declared himself to be Kashmiri and is connected to the JEM and TTP terror groups. Pakistan has quite some terror groups, when they are under siege they seek to pull their assets together and join forces.
TIME DILEMMA – CATCHING SHASZAD
It was quite extraordinary to lock-in on the cell phone of Shaszad at the moment he nearly got away via JFK.
Investigators were able to track wannabe terrorist Faisal Shahzad through his anonymous, pre-paid cell phone — exactly how, they won’t say. But there was a tantalizing explanation posted — and then quickly yanked — from the website of WCBS TV. “In the end, it was secret Army intelligence planes that did him in. Armed with his cell phone number, they circled the skies over the New York area, intercepting a call to Emirates Airlines reservations, before scrambling to catch him at John F. Kennedy International Airport.”
Jeremy Scahill, relying on a source in U.S. Special Operations, says those planes were likely RC-12s, equipped with a Guardrail Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) system.
