Promoted by Steven D — have a great weekend all.
I`m back with more underwater images in support of the gulf coast, it`s inhabitants above & below the surface, & to all who`ve worked so hard to keep the daily developments on the front pages.
I would like to also mention a big “Thank You” to all the workers out on all the skimming boats, the oil retrieval crews on the beaches, & the crews out working on the rigs, tankers & the ROV operators who have worked nonstop to end this gusher.
I cannot blame them for the bad decisions of their managers.
Now that the gusher is stopped albeit temporarily, I think we can have a little breather.
Then we`ll have to get back to keeping this catastrophe at the top of the news, since we all know how the style of news cycles here can rapidly shift away the important issues to iPhones & Lohans.
PURPLE CONTORTIONIST
(An Anemone)
I must stress that the images I post are not necessarily gulf inhabitants, they are my tank inhabitants, but it`s the only way I can personally do my part to make others aware of what we stand to lose, when we are not proper stewards of our planet.
With that in mind, we have to be prepared to work for years to clean up this disaster.
The oceans are the heartbeat of this planet, & we just gave it a stroke.

Your best ever photo collection in one post, KH!
The color and details of those photos are just brilliant.
Between that and the “topic” at hand you’re bringing tears to my eyes…
Paradise lost. Thanks KNUCKLEHEAD. The enormity of destruction is yet to be seen. “What fools we mortals be.” Puck
Indianadem,
“The enormity of destruction is yet to be seen.”
I`m afraid to even think about it, but I think it will prove to be a generational disaster.
Wonderful photos, Knucklehead. Thanks for posting.

You are very welcome, Thank you.
These are stills from a documentary I have just completed about bird migration across the gulf of mexico. All of these birds are inhabitants of the gulf coast for at least part of the year. Sorry to fill up the comments but what the hell.

Torpid bunny,
Those are great photos.
They are also very much appreciated, as they picture what else we stand to lose from this man-made disaster.
What KH said!
Plus I’ve read that MN Wild Life folks are tagging the Loons in MN to see how they’re affected… I suppose mainly to see if they survive their usual winter habitat in the GOM.
So besides the sea, the disaster spreads far and wide on land too.
NDD,
I read that also.
As you say, the destruction will be widespread.
It`s making me loony.
Torpid bunny, join Knucklehead at the head of the class. You people are magnificent. If this is what Capitalism stands for, spreading ecological chaos, I’m ready for something else. While we still have a viable planet.

Thank you for nominating Torpid bunny to the top of the class but he should be alone there.
I`m just a old DFH trying my best to help make more people aware of what we stand to lose.
I think his documentary will reach many more eyes than my small effort.
Thanks for your nice thoughts. They are really encouraging.
Hey, K-H, if I can encourage someone as committed as you (and as gifted), I feel great. This thought makes my whole day. I get so po’ed at our selfish wealthy who who would trade our environment with all its animal and vegetable wonders for their god damned profits. As a human being, I am horrified at their actions and aspirations.
Dongi 2, You are too kind.
Here`s little something for you.
My house is a little to the left of center where there`s a reddish hedge with a little white dot. From there, the view towards the tipi.
The difference in Tipi covering is that the last years winter storms ruined it. This one is just a few months old.
It will soon be painted & I will shoot it again.
Thank you for your nice thoughts.
From my hose.
Thnx for the cool pics, K-H. What state do you live in? I’m guessing CA. I live in central NY. Cheers.
