I’m kind of enjoying the Meg Whitman meltdown. How much of her money has she spent trying to become governor of California? I think the highlight so far has to be this press release by the rabid anti-Latino group, Americans for Legal Immigration.
ALIPAC is asking Immigration and Customs Enforcement to arrest and charge both Whitman and Diaz for numerous immigration and employment law violations. […]
Americans curious about Meg Whitman’s support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty (CIRA) that would lift current laws and penalties for both illegal aliens and their employers now know why. If CIRA were to pass, exploitative employers like Whitman would escape the existing penalties under US law which have a nine year statute of limitations.
The American public has indicated in numerous scientific polls that well over 80% of Americans want employers like Meg Whitman heavily fined. Over 50% want the employers of illegals, like Whitman, jailed.
That’s not exactly consolidating your base.
Also, too, does Carly Fiorina want Whitman imprisoned?
I live in CA, in fact within spitting distance of Atherton, and let me tell you, you are not finding this half as entertaining as I do. I’ll wager good money there is not a Republican in Atherton who does not employ illegal immigrants. Mostly through gardening services, I will guess, but plenty like Ms Whitman’s maid. I don’t have a single Republican friend (and I do have a few of them – they tend to be moderate Republicans around here, at least till they run for office) who pays SSI for their household help (I don’t know people who have full time help) – they all say, well, they don’t WANT me to pay them above the table…
Remember this?
Enjoying this very much! read on one thread that during those years employers didn’t receive letters about soc sec # discrepancies unless they had 10 or more employees [with the problem?]. more fun facts forthcoming I hope.
Living here in California I too am finding this immensely entertaining. There is also no way given the size of Queen Meg’s huge estate and grounds that she isn’t employing a half a dozen or more yard people and the odds of them being undocumented is almost a given. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg for her problems concerning employees.
And it might not hurt to look into Fiorino’s employees either.
I’m an eBay seller and buyer and remember fondly the beginning of the company with its
It has been my experience over many years of using the marketplace of eBay, that people really are basically good.
Too bad Meg has lost sight of this. It’s hard to be good when you have a lot of money.
“It’s hard to be good when you have a lot of money.”
They’ve got a jones for the dollar and that monkey on their backs ain’t going away. I’ve thought for some time that addiction explains the behavior very well, especially that pesky denial part.
So… several years ago they received a letter from SSA saying that they can’t apply the SS payment to their employee’s SSA account because the name does not match the name they have on file for that SS#. Whitman claims to never have seen the letter, but more interesting is that they never received another one. The only way to avoid receiving these letters EVERY QUARTER after making a payment that can’t be credited is to just never send quarterly payments anymore.
So next we will learn that she stopped making the SS and tax withholding payments in order to shield her illegal employee from the government. I wonder if she kept deducting these monies form her illegal employee’s paycheck every week?
But I do have some sympathy for Whitman. She did pay her illegal alien employee very well for a maid (over $20/hr) because it really is hard to find good help in the Atherton area.
