With Newsweek showing a sharp improvement in the Democrats’ performance and Nate Silver moving in the other direction to forecast a more than 50-seat pickup for the Republicans, it seems that there is just a bunch of statistical noise going on. It’s hard to analyze anything. But, one thing I do know is that you can make things easier by going to Organizing for America and simply telling them that you are going to vote (or that you already have) so that they can strike your name off their call lists and walk sheets. It’s a little thing, but I can tell you that it means a lot to the people manning the phones and hitting the pavement.
While you are there, you can log into the humorously named MyBO and get in touch with your local organizer. For example, in my area there were events set up for 10am this morning in Malvern, Phoenixville, and Downington. You can volunteer some of your own time and get to know like-minded individuals in your community, which can have many benefits.
But, please at least let them know they can rely on you to vote. It’s literally the least you can do.
And, yes, this means you, too, CabinGirl π
pfft…
ps, I did it.
Can you be a little more specific about HOW to let them know? I went to the site, and it’s not that obvious.
Is this what you are talking about?

yes, that is it.
Boo:
Did you see Kos said the Florida Democrats are seriously lagging in early voting and the reason for it? Ugh!! But otherwise, it looks like we are kicking ass in early voting.
We have similar operations going on here. We started back in June and decided early on it would be good to combine the local party efforts with OFA’s. Its worked quite well for us in that we’ve been able to contact a lot more voters than usual. At this point, we have OFA, the local Dems, state Dem workers and 9th Congressional District staff all working together.
That’s cool.
I voted today
Me too! I voted this morning (that makes 2 Chicago votes, right rikyrah!) π And then spent 4 hours walking all over this northwest neighborhood in Chicago knocking on doors and just now got home. My feet hurt like hell but otherwise I feel like I had a productive day. The canvassing list was very organized and I found lots of Democrats who are voting this mid term but damn, I could never be a candidate – this stuff is exhausting!
