After getting marooned in Kansas City the Giants find out that the Minneapolis Metrodome has collapsed under the weight of heavy snowfall. I have no idea when they’ll be able to play the Vikings, or where. They could play at the University of Minnesota’s new stadium but that stadium is outside and it’s going to be ten below zero tomorrow night and the Giants didn’t bring any of their cold weather gear.
It’s all part of a conspiracy to make sure that Brett Favre can keep his record of consecutive starts going. He was badly injured in last week’s game and probably is not ready to play this week. I suppose they could hold the game in New York, although there is some talk of playing it in Detroit.
ESPN and NFL Network are both reporting tomorrow night in Detroit. Dunno if NFL has confirmed that yet.
If it aired on their network, you can take it to the bank.
Hah, the first Monday Night Football game in Detroit in nine years will not involve the Lions. Even worse, it will involve their hated rivals from Minnesota. So, who will show up to watch?
And the game will only be on in the NY and Minnesota markets. Boo!!!
Rebroadcast on NFL Network at midnight.
I’m glad I didn’t see this comment, or I would have been up all night.
A lot of people – despite not having a good team, people here are die hard (obviously) football fans who know and love the sport. I guarantee that the game will be sold out and that both teams will be vocal in their praise for all the fans who come out.
Also – I don’t know if you’ve been to Ford Field yet BooMan, but it is a pretty sweet venue. I am sure that most of the players, including many of the Vikings, are happy that the game is going to be played here.
I follow Detroit (listen to the radio program on the Internet) and they are saying that Detroit fans can get in free. I think they have to have today’s ticket stub. They are in a good mood since today they beat Green Bay. First win for the Lions in their division (NFC North) since October 2007.
I’m rooting for Fargo.
According to the Vikings website, free general admission tickets will be offered after team ticket holders who want to make the trip get first crack at the 50 yard line seats.
Can’t talk my wife into making the trip up 75 for a free ticket to see Big Brett. She’s a smart woman.
Maybe NFL Football should start the First Sunday in August, and end on Dec.1.
Off-topic — boo, did you see the news that Bloomberg is not gonna run in 2012? looks like he has read the tea leaves, after Obama’s tack to the center. This is good news.
Was Bloomberg really going to spend $2 billion of his own money to lose? I don’t think so. And it has nothing to do whether Obama “moves to the center” or whatever dumb label.
OK, must be just a coincidence that he backed out a few days after the deal was announced and after several commentators said that it improves chances for an Obama victory in 2012.
Falcons…win…again!
Yes, that is getting annoying.
See the video of the roof coming down?
Awesome.
